Banks PDA wake up?

I just installed a Banks 6-gun with PDA. When I shut the truck down it goes to sleep. When I start it up again it does not wake up. Does anyone out there know what I am doing wrong? Thanks and happy new year to all TDR members...

Mine Wakes Up.

Start engine, PDA on, PDA connects to Banks Device. Leave PDA on, shut off engine, short wait then PDA goes to sleep. Start engine PDA wakes up on its own. I have even had it remind me (much to my surprise) of a calendar even when I sync to Outlook and start the engine several days later.



Has the PDA had enough time to charge itself? It takes a little while. I do not remember any setting to actuate the wake up.



I like mine and the features, wait till you get to bail yourself out with the OBDII scan.

I'm sure the settings stay the same when it does start back up.

I had it on the charger over night. Just will not wake up inless I turn the PDA on! And yes I cleared a code (heater grid air temp problem) I had the truck to the dealer 3 times, They say it is just a quirk in the system?!?! And WOW the SL is fast, I can smoke the tires from a stop!!!

What version of the software are you running? I have I beleive its 1. 8 and it does turn off the pda after 30 seconds. I know that the earlier versions did not.

yes, it is a 1. 8 and I have to turn in on manually.

J, my ottominder PDA does the same thing, I'm on 1. 8 as well. Pain in the arse! One other problem up here in Alaska, when the cab gets cold (45 degrees or less) the PDA refuses to start and stay working until I heat up the cab.

The new ones will not wake up by turning truck on. You have to manually turn it on . The old ones did do that.

Contact us for 1. 5. It is No longer available or supported form Banks. all the support for 1. 5v will have to come form Us, although I and Most owners like the features In 1. 5v. . 1. 5v was to complex for some owners and Tech support at Banks was inundated with calls. 1. 5v sleep screen cause some lockup issues that can be avoided by just clearing the diagnostic's weekly or just turning the E2 off and on occasionally.

I just checked, my version is 1. 5.

OK, I talked to Bank's today they say they changed the 1. 8ver. to not wake up after starting the truck! They claim that it "saves the PDA battery". I also learned that if the PDA is off or out of truck the 6gun will stay on last setting. Also best MPG is level 4or5.
