Any info on the good/bad of the Banks intercoolers? Banks has an intercooler called the Technicooler, it claims to flow alot better than the Cummins stocker. Are there any members out there that have installed a Banks intercooler in a 24v or an HPCR?

I like it,the stock charger did not on my 03,Upgrade to the SPS62 it is the Best combination I have Ever had including TWINS.

I don't hate Banks with a passion. You can say I was extremely upset with them. But for the last 10 months or so they have been great company to deal with. Yes, we've had our share of words, but as of right now we are working on some things I'd rather not get into. But, Peter has been a pleasure to work with.

As for their intercooler. I can tell you from experience I have seen my EGTs go down 200*+. Everyday driving around the city no difference in temps. On the freeway cruising I'm seening a good solid average 100* drop. I really see the difference when I'm towing. The day I installed it I took off for AZ with my boat on the back (6,500lbs). Done the drive a million times (including the weekend before), same load, same TST settings, same speed, same everything. Climbing the hills I was seeing 200*+ drop. Rolling down the freeway at 70mph with the boat I was seeing a 100* drop. Towing my travel trailer (9,000lbs) last weekend I was coming up the Cajon Pass at 1100*. It use to be at 1250*-1300* for short burts climbing. To be able to keep it at 1100* for 2-3 minutes while climbing a grade at 70mph like that is impressive. (That's with the TST on 4/2) Worth the $1300... that's up to you. But I'm a believer.

Cool! I am looking into upgrading to a better intercooler, it doesn't have to be Banks. Here on the WestCoast, Banks is a big name in diesel performance. Most banks dudes, are WestCoast dudes.

My buddy has a technicooler on his 05 duramax. We will be running on a dyno in Vermont together this weekend and I will ask him how much of a difference he noticed when he towes his 11 ton trailer! Yes a D-max towes that much! I bet ya a Cummins would do better!!

11,000 lbs or 11 tons (ie 22,000 lbs)?

Who cares if he can pull that much, My question is, CAN HE STOP 22,000 lbs!!!

Yes it is 22,000 lbs! It is the biggest god danm thin I've seen behind a P/U truck in my life. He seems to have no trouble motoring it around all summer long.

banks rules, a 125 h. p chip on a p. stroke made 49 h. p. and very little smoke, while a 90 h. p brand x made 115 h. p rear wheel, bully dog days of summer 04 BANKS POWER,,,,, WHERE ???????? #@$%!

One of Bank's problems is that they quote max gains in all their advertising, not peak-to-peak gains like everyone else. This is a bit deceiving, and I've seen some disappointed customers. One guy in a 24v had the whole shebang, and made a whole 30hp over stock on the dyno. Needless to say he was a bit miffed.

Casual enthusiasts like Banks products. Addicts like us, well, we know better. If you start talking dynos and turbos with a Banks guy, they get a blank look on their face and quote sales literature.

The intercooler is sweet, though, as is their exhaust. I just don't have much positive to say about their electronics.

I AGREE WITH U ON THIS :D

After reading the comments and the previous threads that were posted I think Banks should clone PeterT. He sounds like a stand up guy that wants to try to make a difference. The only problem is that typically organizations that have the problems Banks has with customer service usually can't keep employees like Peter and they leave out of frustration. You better use him while you can before he leaves or they run him off for not supporting the company line of " no service after the sale".

All of this is moot - he does work there. I just called to check. However, I want the answers in written form so I can better digest them. The sales guy's name is Bruce Bonfield.

I just got something in the mail from this guy, along with a Banks flyer with some of the things they are trying to peddle. Went straight into the trash can.

He must still be working there... .

Install full max package on my 2001 dodge 2500. Awesomesome power. transmission blew 60,000 miles. Warranty void. [Long story] Blow lower intercooler inlet duct hose once a month while towing. Banks will not even comment on transmission or hose problem.
