BANKS-power high ram intake-good idea?

what's up fellows, i have a question? i am thinking about getting a

BANKS-high ram intake, but my question is -does it really make a diffrence

on boost pressure. ? it really sounds good but before i buy it i like to get your

opinion if any of you guys have this. i would greatly appreciate your imput

Do you want to increase or decrease your boost? If the boost goes up by adding an intake, you may just have placed a restriction in line of the valves.



Most of these intakes don't do much for power on the older models. Not sure about newer units.

That is true looks great but you take a power loss from it.

What did your dyno sheet say Cummins? All the ones that have been posted show a loss, not much but definately no gain. They do look good though.

I have never had mine on a dyno. Just the feel in the seat of my pants when I am grossing 20k up Old Fort Mountain at 14 mpg.

The ATS Arc-Flow VS the BANKS HIGH RAM ???



How could there be any diffrences in Performance/EGT claims. .



It looks as if they both cure the same Stock issue of the air horn not being aerodynamic .



Just Courious as I plan to pick one or the other up in the classifieds SomeDay.

Does it really matter how these things flow? The air still has to make a left and right turn to travel to the cylinders. I'm not sure there could be much of a gain in a turbocharged vehicle unless there is a built in restriction.



Please correct me if I am wrong.

I could see how the air could Sort of WWWWOOOSSHH in around the After Market Airhorns being that they curve to right down in the motor ... ... . Would get alot more gain in a Turbo Charged Vehical compared to a gasser ... . it would be like a little better ram-air no biggie . .



I dont think alot of people realize just how much boost theses trucks make stock ... 23# is suppose to be the efficency range ... . and 23# is still alot of air ...



the hardest a human could ever blow would be like 5#'s



With 23 and up #'s of pressure the slightest change in its path could really make a diffrence.



But How much ??



And Whos flows better??

I dont think that Either flows better, but the ATS does have spots for water/meth and Nitrous Built in, to make it easier to add HP

I wish somebody would come up with a aftermarket air horn like the 12valves have. A "Y" from the single air horn so some more air could get to the back cylinders.
