Hello all -

I've been generally happy w/my Banks Six-gun w/Speed loader. I purchased it right around 3K miles, and now have just over 24K with what I'd say is at least 99% approval rate.

The missing 1 % is this: During the cold part of winter, just about anything under 0 deg F and TOWING, the Banks box will throw the overboost code (3 red blinks, then 1 green), go into limp mode and return to stock. This was on setting 3. I can shut her down, restart and everything will be fine.

All I could account for it was that maybe, being w/in 1K feet of sea level, the air was too dense for the increased power. It never does this when the ambient temp is above 0 or so.

And, another kudo's to Banks: I installed a complete PowerPack on a 96 Ford Powerstroke that I owned for 8 years, once again intalling it around 3K miles, and was 100% happy. I never had transmission problems until I went with some other guys (no names) chip.

So, it just goes to show you that some of us have good luck, while others bad.

I've got Banks six gun and quick loader with stock exhaust and AFE intake. I couldn't be happier with it. I had a Bully Dog Torque Dog and it slipped my lockup clutch. Banks safeguard engineering is worth the extra bucks!

03 with 6 Gun vs 05 without

I ran a 6 gun on my 03 and had no problems. . After a while it didn't feel like it had any power. I then just got my 05 3500 and now I know how much the 6 gun helped. My stock 05 seems like a dog. . I will need to get a new box and will get another 6 gun, as it worked fine and put out some nice power. The nice thing when towing (15,000 lbs) is I didn't have to downshift when using the 6 gun.

First, I've never once denied the fact that Scheid replaced the Cam Position Sensor. Some of you guys are making a big deal about it like I hid that from everyone. Not true. I've mentioned it before in posts. So what. Second, on towing higher then 3. I was on 3 when it happened. According to my instruction booklet I can tow on anything but 5. I put it on 3 to be safe. Third, I'm the one that asked for the threads to be pulled. I pulled it out of respect for Banks because of the respect Peter has shown me since that post. I've spoken with Peter numerous times since then and we're working on things together. I'm not going to get in to details about what's going on. You guys will know when the time comes. I'm not going to comment anymore on the issue. If you guys want to bash, fine, but I won't be commenting to defending myself. Thanks, hope you guys understand.

i have the banks six gun and speed loader on my truck for about a month now and just love it ,when i first bought my truck i was able to get scratch from a stop light i soon after put 35's on it and lost that scratch until i put the banks kit on now i can light up those 35's again.

Thats all good news, I think it would be great if your troubles were ironed out and even better yet that you share the final chapter with us!

Banks always worked for me

I ran a 6 Gun on my 03 HO 4x4 2500 and it always worked flawlessly. I pull a 15,000 lb gooseneck and once up to cruise speed it didn't have to downshift except for very steep hills. . My friend has the same truck pulling a much lighter trailer and he stated his downshifts all the time. . I believe it is due to the 6 Gun as it has a tremendous amount of low end torque. With all of the safety built in I never worried about EGT or Trans slipping. I now have a 05 and it seems like a dog. . I am waiting to get 1,000 to 2,000 miles on truck and will get another 6 Gun, hopefully with their new PDA

I have Banks six gun, speed loader, exhaust and afe intake for about 40,000 miles no problems whats so ever have Banks on my motorhome too great improvment. You know what they say if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.

The only complaint our Banks Customers have, is when they write out the check, after that it"s all grinds and smiles and years of great service. .
