no, because of rail pressure, what gives? they could not master duration enhancment ???? cant you only turn timing and rail pressure up so high before you hit a ceiling?

BUT duration i think has more room to grow , and believe me when I say this: TST will fix the codes

I would much rather have the option to purchase a box (knowing it need a few updates) , AS OPPOSED to being told "just wait, its worth it, i promise"(of course edge)

I waited just like everyone else, and got pushed aside like everyone else - i only wish they would have been honest and said they are having a bit of trouble, you know? cause i called every month asking about the juice and heard "next week/month/two months, etc"

well thats enough of my venting, i hope that when the juice DOES come out, I hope it is FLAWLESS (for those that did wait, because that would stink to wait SO long and then get a box that pops codes, yet you were waiting for a PERFECT box)

PS, i do admit the trans slippage detect thingy is pretty cool :)

It took me 3 calls to Edge to get an answer about the rail pressure. The best reply I got was "I think it doesnt go past 26000 on level 4. "The Banks claims no higher than 24500 w/o the speed loader. Im very pleased with my Banks six gun. I probably would have been pleased with the Edge also. I chose the Banks mainly because when I ask a question I expect a direct answer. Banks answered all my questions with no hesitation and they didnt sound like they were reading off the web site. Would I buy from Edge?Sure I would and Im patiently waiting for the new box to come out. Hopefully my questions will be answered. Ill buy it and compare it to my Banks.

Good luck and have fun... ...

Ken Imler dynoed that 6 gun with the speed loader. After a 2. 5 hour install he finnally got it onto his Mustang dyno and it measured 20 hp LOWER than the edge EZ at the ground. I personally don't like any of banks stuff. To many limits built into the systems. My Banks Brake for my 02 is a pperfect example. Brake itself worked ok, but that CBC controller was JUNK!! I had to rip it out and rewire it myself just to make it work. Couldn't get a straight answer from Banks on the 6 gun, and after what Ken told me, I don't need one. Good luck.

2. 5 hour install? It took me under 2 hours and 20 minutes of that was waiting on hold to find out what pin to connect to on the trans solenoid. Those orange clips could be a pain I suppose.

The speed loader pushes the psi to almost 27000 or so Im told. Probably close to what the ez pushes on level six.

does anyone have a dyno chart with the banks on a HO ?

all Ive seen is on a CA SO

I would really like to see one, or at least hear from someone who has dyno'd before believing any comments on power to the ground

i'm glad too see so many replies. i also wasn't aware of having to splice a harness to install the six-gun. if this is the case, what's the best way to go about it??? great feedback, keep it coming!!

I personally have always gotten GREAT customer service from Banks and feel that they put a lot into their products. They didn't come out early in the game with a box and said when they did it WOULD work with no codes etc. I have used and sold LOTS of their products over the years with great success. Yes their a little pricey but I feel you get what you pay for.

James, the install is fairly straightforward. i would recommend however that you look at the connectors that came on the banks harness to understand how the orange sliding clip retains the connector going into the various sensors. Its nothing complicated. Could save you from breaking something! As far as the t taps go break the plastic cover, cut the connector with a pair of diagonals and spread the 2 halves apart. All you have left is a thin slice in the insulation. Still kind of a pita but whatever box you choose hang on!!!!

Anyone have experience with the Quadzilla box?

From their website it doesn't appear to increase rail pressure, but increases output through timing and duration. Is this accurate?

Thanks

same as my experiance with them over the years, well since 90 anyhow. I like my edge, and am happy waiting for a box that I am not the guinea pig on. I think most will not agree with tomeygun, about having a box that throws codes or having one that does not. I have now ridden in a truck that has the tst and it is impressive, but why have a box that goes to level 10 when all you can run is 5 before you might be walking with the stock drivetrain. I know for a fact we were slipping the clutch at level 6,I smelled it. if I did not have the ez I would be on the tst,and not waiting. as for the banks stuff I love it for guys that do not want to have to worry about egts or mind driving off the gauges.

thats like saying "why buy a CON OFE, you only make 350HP?"

because you will later have 450HP, you know?

I like the fact I can buy one chip and that will take me a long time to out-grow, i had the EZ and I wanted more like only 1 month after getting it... and my stock 5-spd held level 6 no problem, that says something

Not to stir the nest or anything, but I was disgusted with my TST box. I don't appreciate a box that throws codes like a kid and a ball. I expect better than that from TST, and although the codes MAY not have any longterm effect on the truck, they should have been ridded of before release. Now everyone here feels different about this situation, but I have sent my PMCR (both of them) back to TST for a refund, and now I will GLADLY wait for the Edge box.

Another problem I have with TST is their advertising of their box on their website. Claiming that 150hp is achieved with STOCK exhaust and turbo is very misleading as to the nature of this box. We all know that throwing this box into a bone stock truck and running 9X9 is a ticking bomb. Why not be straight forward and inform an uneducated buyer of the extreme conditions this box may cause. Honesty goes a long way.

Like I said, I am gladly continuing to wait for Edge, but NEVER for Banks.

Okay, I'll get off my box now:rolleyes: :D

I was talking to Banks today about their box and they say you will get less of an increase with the HO than the SO. Their numbers are also with exhaust, intake and big head waste gate actuator. Be warned that you wont get their maximum advertised output from your HO. Especially if if you haven't made any other changes to you truck.

Lonestar,

I am standing on the same box. TST is under the impression there are alot of Elmer Dinkley's out here, ya I believe anything you say boss, what a bunch of false claims. Totally agree Edge Products are king of the hill, total customer satisfaction, 2 year warranty, trade for upgrade and they answer there phones, what a concept. When they finally turn the juice loose for the 04 everything else will be dust.

Banks has nothing on anyone, but a substandard, unreliable, overpriced copy of someone elses hard work, just ask someone that has had problems with one of there products, no customer service to boot, enough said.
