Wife let me order a Six-gun for Christmas. :) (They had a speical)I will like the in cab selector... Did I make the right choice?

my first tuner was a banks 6 gun w/speed loader. I like it alot. but I got a bit more out of it by plugging the pyro and leaving it tied up under the kick panel. that way there was no EGT backing down. I was happy with results in sled pulls in an very unfair class (tt dual injector pumps water/meth you name it) with a fairly stock truck (kn filter straight pipe 6 gun). if you ever need customer service banks is great. But i tend to be the oddball here on tdr as i have now moved on to ppe hot et2 programing after i tried a smarty.

I think you would be much happier with some other brands, as fas as Banks customer service my expeiences as well as some of my friends were terrible.

Thanks for the comments, but keepem commin. I really need in cab adjustable. When I pull GN trailers (grossing 18 to 26K) and passing on 2 lane hiways I like to jack it up some for passing and normally use a low setting for all other driving trailer or not.

I have the Banks 6-Gun package and am quite happy with it. The only thing is that the friggin' Palm Pilot locks up every now and then and I have to reset it. However, you shouldn't have that problem with the new Banks IQ.

Just installed Banks EconoMind IQ (touchscreen), it has the 6 settings and more than enough power. You can go with other brands for cheaper. But you get what you pay for. 1,2,3 install no wire tapping and all quality plugs and instructions. Hopefully you have the basic mods to get the full potential out of the tuner (intake, exhaust, etc. ). I think you made the right choice.

Terrible? wow i have called them on several occassions and each time has been a good experience. i had one problem i needed support with. then the other times i needed stupid parts as a result of my own neglience. each time i have been happy with banks. banks definitely puts out a well engineered product that is built for the long term.

i have a guy from banks that calls me now and again even though i dont run their products anymore, i just told him for what i do, banks just wont work, but should work good for mild upgrades, but i have been thinking of trying out their new intake manifold.

If Banks could lend out some demo units I think more people would buy their stuff. I still have nagging smoke with my Smarty Sr. even on sw#1,timing 1 and mild torque management. Exhaust is freer flowing and intake is a stockbox with psm and Amsoil element.

Cumminsdually04 if you want to add a bit more power to complement the six gun add a turbo off of the '04. 5 and up trucks. The HE351 flows more air and can be set up for higher boost levels. Inexpensive way to add just a bit more turbo. Great when towing. PM me if you want some details.

I have a Banks Stinger on my 02 & I have not had any problems & been on since truck was new. Had to deal with Banks service twice & their service was great, no complaints.

I was unfamiliar with the six gun and how it makes its power. On their website it says it adds both timing and pressure. Judging by their hp claims of 105hp and 258 lb ft or 126/290 they must have added pressure as most timing/duration power adders seem to be that the torque is 2x's the hp. If they have a rail pressure connection they are adding pressure for sure. I would upgrade you filtration to 2-3 microns if that is the case. A rail pressure gauge might not be a bad investment. They might not exceed stock pressure but only ramp it up sooner to though. Too many questions for me ask them and see what kind of answers you get.

The easiest on the fly power adjustment..... your right foot.

I have had a six-gun w/speedloader on my '05 since I bought the truck. I put it on with intake and exhaust all at the same time. I have had no problems and am pleased with the power gains. IMO it is a safe and reliable power adder.

I have a Banks six gun with speed loader,

and piller with gages. all Banks. Never

out of the boxes, will make you a good deal.

Only thing your buying with Banks is the name. Theres plenty of companies that use factory plugins as well. The 6 Gun raises rail pressure, and I have heard of guys toasting an engine with a "safe and reliable" Banks...

x2. Best bet is a programmer set at a reasonable level, so as to provide plenty of passing or grade-climbing power, but not high enough that temps go through the roof

Banks main market is those who dont know anything else excists, Banks products are OK if all you want is a little extra hp for DD or towing i'll give it that, but for all out performance banks is a joke, too many safty features and not enough power.

Now i've been useing there hard parts for a while, they accually work, im talking the intake manifolds for the d-max and cummins...

truck had the 6 gun on it when I bought it. Kept throwing the check eng lite. Finally turned the damn thing off and works just fine now. Plenty of power without it. Tim
