I purchased my Banks stainless steel 4" diameter exhaust system from The PowerShop located in Enumclaw, WA. As they are a Banks Master Dealer, they almost always have this system in stock. I believe they sell it if for a 10% discount and will ship anywhere. I have already recommended this on this BB and several members have purchased Banks systems from them.

The PowerShop can be reached through their website at: www.thepowershop.com or phone at: 1-800-835-8839 (note: the 800 number will provide faster service)

Banks has dealers all over the country. Their website is under construction and doesn't yet list the dealers. If you give them a call on their 800 number I'm sure they will direct you to a dealer close by in WY.

I tried to buy from the Powershop. They would NOT even match the price I got from Woodlawn RV. They told me they CAN NOT sell it for that price. So I ordered my Banks High Ram from Woodlawn RV (they advertise in the TDR thats where i found them). They are in Lindon New Jersey. I saved 50 dollars and that was delivered to my door. I could not believe the Powershops lack of customer service. OH WELL THERE LOSS.

That's the VERY FIRST time I've heard that about The PowerShop! Usually customers can't seem to give them enough praise. In fact, MANY customers come from several states away to have their truck or motorhome enhanced by The PowerShop. Additionally, most of their advertising is by word of mouth from satisfied customers... as a matter of fact, that's how I started going there, a recommendation from a friend (and satisfied customer). Sorry to hear you didn't have the positive experience you had hoped for.

Called the Powershop today and talked with Mike. Customer service was fine for me. He answered all my questions in regard to the Banks exhaust system. We also discussed some of the other products they carry. I would not have a concern dealing with them in the future.

I am leaning towards the Banks exhaust. I have heard from more than one person that it's the best fitting set up and it sound great. The stainless steel system is a plus too. Spendy though. A couple of hundred more than the Jardine and a round a $100 more than the BD set up. Probably worth it for the SS system. Guess I'll have to crack open the piggy bank again!

Ram On!

Anyone know if they make one for a 163" wheelbase chassis cab 3500? That's 8" more than a quad cab long bed, and I have the feeling my options are going to be pretty limited.

David, Banks asks all the questions about your truck when you order i. e. longbed, shortbed, extended, quad or regular cab. I take that to mean that they can supply whatever size you need. The Banks SS system may cost more, but is an excellent system with a warranty that can't be beat.

you may already know this but Magnaflow, who is the manufacturer of the muffler for the Jardines kit, now has a stainless kit for the Dodge Ram visit www.magnaflow.com to find a dealer for it.

I don't want to quote Mike at the Powershop, but his price on the S. S. Banks exhaust is much cheaper than what you were quoted for the Magna Flow. It should be gold plated for that price!

Out of curiousity. . is it better to go with a stainless exhaust vs an aluminum? And why? I have a 4" Jardine sitting at home that I am still waiting to install, but some friends told me to sell it and buy a stainless exhaust. Whats the benefit of stainless?

Thanks

Kev

It lasts longer.

I've got a stainless borla on my Jeep, and although it's been bashed by rocks plenty and isn't so pretty, there's no rust to be found.

Aluminumized Steel will last a long time on a diesel engine. For two reasons the, our diesels run cooler and have cooler exhaust gasses, and the the inside of the pipe gets coated with a nice protective layer of soot. Stainless, IMO, will literally last forever on a diesel, but it is really only necessary for a nicer looking exhaust. The only area I could possible see being a problem alum. steel exhaust is the muffler, and that is because of the moisture that builds inside of it and can collect there if you don't run the truck long enough between stops.

Just a tip, when you install your Jardine, use bands clamps. IT makes for a nicer install IMO, and they are much easier to take apart should you ever need to. Also, IMO, the regular clamps are definitely a weak link in the alum. steel exhaust because they will be the first to rot away.
