i have a 98. 5 24 valve one ton dully. i am a big banks fan. i was planning on getting a banks chip. but i recently found out that edge has a programmer that is adjustable on the fly for my truck. banks doesn't have anything like that and it would be nice to adjust it. i'm curious to who has a similar truck and has either programmer on it?heard stores that the edge blows your fuel milage. curious to your imput on both. thanks.

A friend of mine had a 99 2500 4wd. we put the banks kit in, full kit, turbo, exhaust, intake, computer. truck ran real nice. then he did injectors, rv275's. truck ran real nice, blew up the transmission. put back a 3 stage converter, worked ok. then he had some problems with the banks computer, banks waould continue to reflash the computer, but he got tired of it, and put in the edge juice with attitude. big difference. the gauges, turbo timer, adjustability, all nice features. From what I've heard, around the shops is that the edge is the most reliable.

I have to assume you are looking at "wire tap boxes"? I've run a lot of combos of boxes, turbos, injectors, ect. and ALL will kill your mileage if you have a heavy right foot. but MOST will show an improvement in MPGs if you put an egg under the go pedal. Banks has a decent product for mild gains but I have NEVER seen a race/pulling truck running banks parts unless it was owned by banks, and then it is always prototype stuff and not "off the shelf" available. Edge Juice is a solid and proven "box" that is full of features, it is not the most powerful but the most consistent for what it is. I use the Quad ADR and have had good luck with it but some have not. If you dont need the gauges, the Edge Comp is a good "box" too.

I like my Edge Juice generally run on 1 for mileage. Can kick it up if I want more power. Love the Gauges and Alarms, you set your own parameters so you don't have to constantly be watching the gauges and can pick and choose the gauges you want to monitor. Steve

I have been completly satisfied with the Banks products. The adjust on the fly would be a nice option, but I reliability is great. I have towed and never had to look at the pyro. It may not be the fastest, but don't worry about failures.
