How long does it take Banks to get back with me? I'm looking to buy Banks Exhaust and wanted to find a local deal so mabe I chould hear it and see it before buy this High Dollar exhaust. I filled there stuff out online three days ago and have heard nothing. Seems like poor customer service.

Dan

I've experienced very poor customer service with Banks (pre-sale). I've never purchased anything from them for this reason. IMO if you want exhaust, look on e-bay, it is much much much cheaper, and you can choose from aluminized or stainless, with or without muffler, etc... . I got a 4" Jardine from e-bay for $307 to my door, went together easy, about an hour for the install. Sounds great and cost about 1/3 of a new banks system.

Also, many people have used banks systems listed that have no mechanical flaws.

Just my two cents.

i would not waste my time with Banks!

i waited 4 day for a call back when i was looking at there stuff

i guess they didn't want my $$$

so i went somewhere else

Dan

I don't have it yet, but, give Rip a call at Source Automotive. From what I have read on here he has a great set up, very easy to install, top notch customer service and sounds great.

Banks called about 3 hours after my posting here. They wanted almost a Grand for the exhaust with the power elbow. There's no dealers in my area, so I can't see or hear it before I buy it.

Dan

A grand for exhaust!! :--) For that kind of bread you could buy a bigger turbo and do a lot more for lowering your egt's.

If you haven't caught the drift... forget banks for any upgrade and go get twice as much per dollar somewhere else with good service. JMO but you would be doing yourself a favor.

Ditto on Banks, I wouldn't spend 10 cents with them, over-rated and overpriced!!! I go right by guys with Banks stickers on their trucks, laughing all the way to the bank!!! :D :D

That's right, once again. Steer clear of Banks, Rip's exhaust does sound excellent, and they do have great customer service.

I got my Banks exhaust through an independent .com dealer for much less. It's a quality unit & the brake is excellent. The dealer went out of business shortly there after. I suspect, Banks was not pleased with him selling so low. I had a very frustrating experience when trying to get information from Banks on other products & gave up on them. I'm quite pleased with the products I have but I sure wouldn't spend the retail price. I've dealt with Rip. He's amongs the best.

DThelen,

I know that many of you feel that our products are overpriced, but at least make accurate comparisons before you make such an assumption. Many of the low-priced exhaust systems that are on the market are aluminized. Aluminized is an inferior product when used on vehicles that run at the exhaust gas temperatures that we see on today’s vehicles, so in the case of a 1999 Dodge truck, we do not even offer aluminized steel, only stainless. Stainless is a more expensive material, so price comparisons between aluminized and stainless are not valid. If you are satisfied with aluminized as your material of choice, that is fine, and a Banks system is not for you.

You also need to account for the content of the system. The system that Dan Thelen received a quote on was our Monster Exhaust with Power Elbow, a component that is unique to Banks and would not be included in other manufacturer’s systems. The published retail price of that system is $895. A Monster Exhaust system for this vehicle that does not include the Power Elbow has a published retail price of $698. As a comparison, a Magnaflow system of comparable content has a published retail price of $816.

I mentioned published retail price. Obviously prices will vary depending on how much individual business will discount the product, and taxes and shipping can affect final price. These are just a few things to consider when you are price shopping. Just make sure that you know what you are paying for before you assume that a Banks product is overpriced.

I just installed My first Magnaflow Kit it was stainless steel. That 409 system has to be the nicest quality and ease of installation I have ever encountered I have been selling alot of the MBRP but they have been backordered so I substituted with Magmnaflow to clear up all backorders. Anybody else ever installed one of these systems ?? Give me a call about the magnaflow I am getting a good deal on them.

I got my system from Jegs. SS all the way, good sound without being too loud. They have never left me hanging. Always left me warm and fuzzy.

Rip has a good reputation.

One bad experience with Banks Customer service turned me off.

Wasn't about the money. But Banks has been doing it a long time.

I have had a Banks Monster exhaust on my 04' for a little over a year. They say in their ads that it does not have a drone. Well around 70mph-75mph,it does and is very annoying! Also its developed a bunch of little rust spots, thought it wasnt supposed to rust?

Extreme Diesel... ... ... ... . WHY wont you post your prices?

I dont want to make a long distance call to find you are $125 higher than what I see prices LISTED in other add's.

Just asking,,,,,,,,,

Thanks

Richard

Extreme Diesel... ... ... ... . WHY wont you post your prices?

That would have to do with something called " Rules of the TDR" vendor's cannot post prices in regular forums.

If your worried about a 3 minute long distance phone call maybe an exhaust system at this point isnt such a great idea :-laf

For those of us that live where they don't use de-icer or salt the roads aluminized exhaust will last decades without problems. Why would I pay twice as much for stainless?
