OK so i am wondering if anyone here can tell me how banks makes its power. I was assuming that it was just a pressure box, but i wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance.

It is primarily a pressure box...

And if things haven't changed, it's not plug-and-play. When I first got my '03 I looked into Banks, and didn't purchase for a multitude of reasons. Primarily, though, because I would have had to tap the stock harness.

The Banks system I installed was a plug-and-play with no t-taps. Also, it did not increase my rail pressure. There was a writ-up in the TDR mag that covered it, and other "boxes", it is a duration/timming adjustment.

Yeah, mine was a very easy to hook up, just unplug and replug some sensors and ready to go. It took me about 1 1/2 hrs to install the six-gun tuner itself and the speedloader took about another 1 1/2 hrs to install. The good thing about it is once you have it installed all you have to do is twist the knob and you have adjustable power on the fly. If you get the power pda you get evan more options and you get gauges in the pda as well. That's what I'm shooting for next.

so one guy says pressure and the other guy says timing and duration... i want to know if it is safe to stack with my smarty

Where does the new style Banks box plug in?

Is it plugged in to the MAP and rail pressure sensors? If so, it is a pressure box.

If it plugs into the MAP sensor, cam sensor, crank sensor and injector harness then it's a timing/duration box.

If it connects to all of the above, it will manipulate timing/duration and pressure.

Some timing/duration boxes can make changes with only the injector plugs and MAP sensor.

I think stacking would be fine. I ran a triple stack with my Smarty. Smarty, TST (Timing and duration) and MP-8 (pressure) with great results.
