Had the b1-2 on for a couple weeks now and notice how much more it barks than stock 35/12. Any aggressive shifting results in a nice hard huff. Are these things really able to take that indefinitely? Also... I really thought I would make more boost than I am. I'm running at 5000'+ so maybe that is why. I rarely see more than 30psi on 3x5. My stock turbo made that although EGTs are a lot lower with same amount of boost. I thought I would see 40psi+ with comp and mach2s. Seems like if I had a boost leak my EGTs would still be high? Thanks

Luke, I need to take a ride in your truck! My truck in sig is what I am hoping to BOMB, with a few differences, however, I would like to see how the Mach 2s and B-1 do at this altitude. I am moving to Parker beginning of November. If you are interested in giving me a ride maybe I can come up your way some time. Thanks! PM me!

Also, I think your boost is lower or the same due to moving more air (keeping EGTs and smoke down) but keeping pressures about the same. Just my guess.

Get you a 5" sewer plug and drill/tap for a air valve in the center. Take your breather air tube off of the filter housing and install the sewer plug and use the band clamp to tighten it up to seal it off. Shoot a little air into the system. . Not much. . or it will blow the sewer plug out. . I watch the air tube as it expands and also watch the boost guage on the inside of the truck. . Once you get a little air into the system. . grab a spray bottle with water/soap mixture and spray all the boots and connections. .

You will find a leak real quick with this setup...

Thanks Piers!

Yes, they bark... . all of them... . all the dam time! There is apparently now way, short of a $500 BOV from BD, to get rid of the barking B1. Denis's, mine, Luke's USB all bark like it's their job.

Ken claims that absolutely no harm can come from it. I've had mine for over a year now and it's not toast yet, and I bark it daily... you should have heard it the other night coming out of a 52 psi run at the end of the 1/4 mile... ANY HX-40 would have snapped the shaft after that bark!

Maybe check the wastegate actuator and make sure it's good and closed up tight, not letting any exhaust by, thereby giving you less boost. I remember one fella a while back ended up having a cracked exhaust housing on his brand new B1 from Ken and that was giving him major troubles w/ boost numbers... it was a fluke though I do believe. You should be seeing at least 40 psi with that setup.

The joys of high-altitude bombing... few ever get to try and work with +450RWHP above 2000'... it's a whole new ballgame.

I swapped out my PDR40-16 for a B1 Bomber several months ago. Yeah it barks like crazy. Scares the crap out of me when it does it. Everything i have read says thats the way they are.

I can very easily hit 50 psi on just injectors... about 54-57 psi with the FMS on.
