Took the words right out of my mouth! A c-channel is has less torsional ridgidity than a box frame. So for applications where you're really putting some twist on the chassis, you don't want a box-frame. Remember, the harder something is, the greater the tendency to "snap" rather than bend. Ever notice the way OTR trucks tend to twist up when they launch from a stop? A hydroformed frame wouldn't bend, it would just break.

Never!! There was an interesting program on TV about the larger rigs and their need "flex". There is so much torque being put to the ground, and with the weight their pulling, if the body didn't flex then there woulfd be a whole lot of parts on the highway. LOL!!
