I’m jumping in with both feet!

On the rare occasion that I remember a thread that pertains to a topic or question posted by another, I do not know how to place the topic thread of interest unless doing it the hard way. You know -- look under this and that search term, ect.

It would be nice to know how to just say "look here'' and the highlighted thread is right out front, ready for any and all to find the thread in question.

I hope this is clear enough for you to understand what I am searching for. Thanks!

Highlight the address at the top of your browser in the address field, then press and hold the Ctrl key and hit C (Copy). Then go to post your message and where you want the link press and hold the Ctrl key and hit V (Paste). That will paste the link into your message and when you post it will convert it into a link.

Same idea as Steve's but a little different - when the thread you want to refer to is on your screen put your pointer on the address bar and right click, the address will be highlighted and a box will come up, right or left click copy. Now when you go to post the page you want to refer to right click then right or left click paste. Make sure the cursor is close to the place you you want to paste before right clicking or it may paste in the wrong place.

Dave,

The easiest way to re-title a link that you want to paste into a post is to use the "http://" button in the post window. When you click that button it will ask you first for the name of the link, which I called "daveshoe's clearcoat thread", you then click on "OK" and then it will ask you for the URL (web address) of the link, then you paste the link and click "OK" again and there you have it.

Just like this: :D

I have 1300 posts and I just learned that ! I always wondered how to rename a thread... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... cool, thanks:)

cheers, Kevin

The way I always do it is like this

[ url=//www.turbodieselregister.com/ ] clearcoat thread [/url ]

I left spaces in-between the brackets and and letters so it wouldn't turn into a link and you could see it, don't leave spaces if you want it to work. I find it faster to type in the commands rather than fool with the http box.
