After I started drivin my VW TDI to work my truck would be dead when I went to drive it. With out doing a Check I ASSUMED the batteries were just bad from being six years old and put two new optimas in it. I was really bummed out when the optimas went dead :( Anyway I did a Ignition off draw test and narrowed the problem down to the blower motor circuit. Anybody have this happen and if so what was the problem in the circuit? Is there a way to check the motor itself for a short? Continuity between the motor housing and the wiring? Pulling the motor relay didn't stop the voltage draw. Thanks!

I had the same problem with my 2000 ctd. I found that if it sat for more than 10 days it wouldn't start. One night I had to run out to the truck in the dark and noticed the glove box lite was on through a faint glow on the floor. Hope this helps

More tests

I did some more testing on my problem and this is what I have so far. If I pull the blower motor relay I still have the draw and when I disconnected the blower motor wire harness I still have the draw. The only time it clears is when I pull the fuse for the blower motor in the junction block. Does this mean I have a short in a wire? Does the fact the I have no draw when the relay is pulled eliminate the ignition switch as a potentional problem? Any techs. out there seen this before?

oops

Did some more checking and searches on TDR. After doing some more checks I found out that the fuse that I pulled that stopped my amp draw was the IOD fuse and not the blower motor fuse :{ So I'm back to square one.
