batteries, what are you using?

I bought a pair of Optima reds and a pair of Champion "red top" gel cells at about the same time over two years ago, both sets are still going strong. The $59 Champions only have a two/five year free/prorated replacement where the Optimas have a three/seven. Time will tell. No more liquid cell battery mess and corrosion for me, I'm done with them.

i just bought a new 2002 3500 and I swapped in the 2 Sears Diehard 900 CCA batteries I had in my 2500 I traded in. They have 3 year unconditional replacment and 5 year prorated replacement. Got 'em at NTB for 79. 95 each on sale.

Red tops... . got em for $25 each. I have two more in reserve. They are not new but they where not used enought and you all paid for them via your taxes. Oh ya, they where not stolen either.

Whatever you buy,make it a maintenance free sealed type. I'm just waiting for my wally mart batterries to croak so I can put in some red tops. Then I can clean up the rust marks on the fenderwells and be finished with it. And give that D/C engineer a D- who had the idea of putting the cruise servo underneath the battery box

I've still got 5-year old Die Hard's in mine. I'm curious how much longer they'll last.



Pumperdude, at least the D/C engineers aren't as stupid as the British engineers who designed the MGB/GT's. (Unfortunately I once owned one. ) The heater shut-off valve was located guess where? Directly above the distributor! Every time the valve leaked a little bit the damm MGB would stop running!



You know why the English don't manufacture a Television Set don't you?

They haven't figured out a way to make them leak oil!
