I found theses in my search for a pair of battery boxes. What do you guys think of them? I'll mount them either under the back part of my cab or under the front corners of the flatbed.

TIA

I have had those on the tongue of my travel trailer for three years. The strap colors faded but the boxes still look new.

switch to gel-cell

If your switch to optimas batts. there is a aluimnum case made to fit that is very nice .

I don't plan on switching batteries just yet. These still have quite a bit left on their warranty (72 mo. w/ about 45 mo. left). But when I do switch batteries I'll probably go with optimas.

When I relocate the batteries, do I need to keep the grounds in the same place (on the motor) or can I move them to the frame near where the batteries are being relocated?

Thanks

Considering the high amperage draw during starting, you want the heavy ground cable back to the engine. . otherwise it will have to use whatever the ground from the frame to the engine is, and that is not currently likely set up to carry that big draw.

Thats kinda what I figured but thought I better check to make sure.

I'm also going to upgrade the battery clamps to military style ones and run #1 (starter&ground) and #2 (b/w batteries) welding cable for the connections.
