What is this????

something to offend everyone

I am looking for a new charger for the farm. It needs to handle everything: motorcycles, mowers, cars, antique tractors w/ 6 volts, to large diesel tractors and combines. Right now I am looking at the Schumacher se-4020. Its a 200/100/40/10/2 amp manual starter/charger. Does anyone have an opinion on this charger or a comparable one? What do you have? Good or Bad? Best place to buy? Cheapest I have found is about $130.

Thanks in Advance. Schumacher Chargers

I have a Schumacher battery charger and am very happy with it. Not sure the model number but it cost about $100 about 8 months ago. I got it from a local Interstate Battery store.

I believe the one that I have is very close to what you are looking at. Does just about anything including cooking my lunch. Hook that thing up to a chicken for 30 min and you have lunch.

Well, let's resurrect this old thread. I'm thinking about purchasing a charger/starter for the shop. Like tmpenner, this would be used on equipment ranging from cars to the Ram to a large diesel farm tractor. Unlike tmpenner, all of my systems are 12V sytems. I'd prefer one with “smart” technology that would automatically drop down from a full charge to a maintenance “float” charge. Looking online, I'm considering something like the Schumacher SE-1555A.

I'd appreciate any input that any of y'all might have on this or similar charger/starters.
