I am replacing the batteries in my 96. The factory holddowns are in bad shape. Geno's Garage used to have some nice aluminum holddowns available, but do not show them anymore. Does anyone make some holddowns, other than the factory style? Thanks.

I had the same problem about six months ago they told me the guy that made them was not reliable so I cut some 3/4" square tubing to size filled the ends with epoxy and rattle can bedlinered them, then cut some 1/4" all thread and put wing nuts on the top nothing fancy but gets the job done

JD (and others),

When you replace the battery holddowns, be sure that the bolts do not extend too far past the threaded part at the bottom (on the battery tray). There is a wire harness that runs beneath one of the batteries (I think it's the left one, but I'm not sure). If the bolt goes too far, it will extend below the battery tray and risk piercing a wire.
