Just wondering if anyone has succesfully relocated thier pass side battery in order to move a bhaf up into the front corner where the flow is better and farther away from the turbo. im sure i can make it work, just may have to find a shorter battery. im finally getting around to dumping the k&n and think this would work better

I've been thinking very nearly the same thing as you, but have yet to do any real research or take any preliminary measurements. My only concern would be that the battery would then be exposed to the greater temperature levels by the turbo, but a simple heat shield might alleviate that problem.

Shameless Advertising

I had the same concerns with a BHAF. I found a company that ahs resolved those problems, check out the Icebox. There website is Icebox Manufacturing and I love this box.

Just a thought here...

Considering your location says you're from Trinidad Colorado, which just happens to be the same town of approx. 10,000 people where the Icebox is made, what are the chances you just "found a company that has resolved those problems"?

Not that there's any harm in advertising your own product... :)

If you want to move your BHAF to the front of the truck spend $25 and get an outterwears cover for it. It will deflect the water off your filter just fine. I really don't think that much water gets under your hood anyway. How many water spots do you have on your battery?? Go drive through a puddle and stop and open the hood... any water all over the battery?? Its not a problem. If you are really worried buy the marine version of the BHAF, it has the metal cage on the inside and outside.

Mcescolini - what are the chances that Goodtimes Hotrods is the "hot rod, custom car building business" that is mentioned on the icebox website?? If your a vendor you need to show it in your profile and such, look at the site guide lines for more info. 18 total posts and 16 of them are about the icebox...
