It looks like the stock battery is a Group 27. and the "optional battery" is the group 34

Is the 34 bigger then the 27?

I saw a post saying the 31 fits with some modification of the battery tray.

They show the 27 is 750cca and the 34 is 900 cca

I know some of you out there would like to use this chance to tell me "buy Glass mat batteries" (red or yellow top flavor) but I can't afford them.

Thanks

Not sure about size..............

... . but, I had to replace mine a while back. I was calling a local dealer who could special order the Optima batteries and he gave me some good information. Interstate batteries have slightly damaged ones that they sell at a discount. I can't remember what they call them... ... "dings" or "dents", something like that. Anyhow, ended up with two Interstate Batteries with slight scrapes on the outer case for $35. 00 each. Have been running them with no problems so far. Not sure what other brands do this or how hard they are to find, but it dosen't hurt to ask around.

Ditto what ISBPilot said. I got my Optima "blems" for 50. 00 each. One of the factory battery was leaking and making a big mess.

If you're bent on buying a "new" battery, then get the Optimas at Costco for 99. 00 each.

I had Deka's in my 95. They were 1000 cranking amps each. Fit right in the factory batt box. They were $84 a piece. Nice batteries. Jeff:cool:

That price for Blems sounds good, so I called around. Left a message with my local Interstate guy.

Called Advanced Auto Parts, they said they did not know anything about Blems, but he had the new ones for $138. 00.

that Walmart Max1 with the great garentee is looking better every day at $54. 00

Here is the deal on these "blems".

Optima sells 99. 9% of the blems at one time, there are 3 people buying them.

1 in long island

1 in denver

1 in Cal.

The next shippment goes to Cal. There is no warrantee on these. Who ever's turn it is, will buy everything they can get there hands on.

The other . 1% goes as handouts to employes.
