I need to repair one of my negative battery terminals. I don't want to buy a new cable. What options are there to repair the cable?

Thanks in advance.

Chuck E.

I have an idea.

Why don't you call me, I'll discuss it with you in person and see if we can find a way to do it in your area.

PM me if you want.

I just did all four on our truck without replacing any cables.

Cable repair

Gary,

I'd like to do all of my cables, the old lead ones are in need of being replaced. What sizes do I need 1/0,2/0?? How many of each?

Thanks, Chuck E.

Parts

Chuck,

This is the combination that I used on our 1997. The 2/0 going to the starter is the big boy carrying all of the positive current to the starter. The other 3 ends are carrying 1/2 of the total power.

2 pieces 1/0 negative. 1 piece 1/0 positive. 1 piece 2/0 positive. I bet the Belden line also has the heavy lug ends, but I didn't need any of those yet.

I spoke with Rob at NAPA in Evergreen this AM, he is looking into the crimping tool, you might want to stop in and chat. Evergreen ain't that big, I was there in late October, stopped in to visit Rob, you are in a really nice area of CO, in the mountains but within Denvers services.

When you get the cables repaired, get away from lead acid batteries and problem is over.

NAPA in Evergreen

Gary,

I'll stop in at the Evergreen NAPA, my youngest son worked there while going to School of Mines about 5 years ago his boss was Kenny at that time.

Rob must be the new owner.

I haven't been back since my son left after gaduation.

Thanks again

Chuck E.
