Competition TST PM3 Comp upgrade...with problems

Competition what do you think about htt's stainless housing?

So I have been looking for a 2003 and up late model quad cab body. Anybody know why a gasser body either 1500, 2500, or 3500 wouldn't work? I am thinking any configuration 2003 and up period would be the same correct?

Thanks

BBD

Don't forget the 2002 1500 is a 3rd gen. Your local boneyard should be able to tell you right quick if they're all interchangeable.

Scott your gutting everything so it doesnt matter what you use. If your gonna keep it a lift body all is well. Besides they only differ in dash, wireing etc. The actual shells are the same.

I think just to spite everyone you should put a 1st gen body on it!:-laf I'm sure it would be easy to find one anyway... . Good Luck

If it comes down to it I found a red and a grey one close to me, both were burnt a bit, red one is a 1500 quad and is 750 and grey is a 2500 diesel (not that it matters) and is 500 (tish more burnt) and I could help a bit with delivery if you wanted one. Let me know!

Mike

Michael

Michael, thanks I am heading over to Sacremento area this morning to a place called "All Dodge" the guy said he had some there I will let you know.

Thnaks

BBD

Okay I just got back from this place called "ALL DODGE" very impressive. They have tons of parts in fact every part for Dodge trucks including Dakota's.

I got a 2004 quad cab with all four doors very straght for $3,500 it includes lots of little things that would add up fast like the plastic cowling between the hood and windshield all handles and hardware, and the frame work welded to it that supports the front fenders etc... I though that was a pretty reasonable price from other places I have seen and no shipping as I am picking it up next saturday.

Thanks to all who have helped in looking and PM'ed or e-mialed me.

Now I can start looking for the bed skins, fenders, hood, front bumper etc... he has all that there as well :D

BBD

Here a couple pics of the 2004 quad cab we picked up a couple weeks ago.

And the brand new dealer 2006 take off bed I picked up yesterday, not one scratch in the bed, seems kind of a shame to cut 75% of it away :-laf

Scott- WOW, almost to good to be true! That is a shame though about the bed... to bad you didn't know of anyone looking for a mint box for there DD and just do a swap+Cash for there used an abused one seeing its getting gutted. I did the same thing though a few years ago when I was building a Super Stock 4x4 Gasser Tilt body. Picked up a mint rust free 8' box from a 95 GMC and cut it all up. Everyone was ticked at me because finding even a rust free 2 or 3 year old one is hard to find up here in Ontario.

Ryan

I was told I could put 2006 fenders on a 03 and up cab the one I have is an 04, anybody know for sure? I know the headlights changed but its no big deal for this build, I like the 2006 up lights anyway.

Anybody have ideas on hoods? Ram air extractore series, reflexion, SRT-10 ect... .

Thanks

I would say Lexan and let everyone checkout your motor, but DHRA says metal hood, right? Haven't read the rules lately or if it matters in your class, but I think a clear hood would be sweet, though probably not feasible or cost effective. The SRT-10 hoods do look sweet on the 3rd Gen trucks...

According to DHRA rules it doesen't have to be steel :D

Body:

Any full-size truck body style is permitted. It must be painted and reasonably free from rust.

Customizing, chopping, channeling, etc. , are permitted, but the body must retain the full-bodied

appearance. The vehicle must have at least two functional doors. The doors must open and close

from inside and outside. Glass may be replaced with Lexan or other shatterproof material of 1/8

inch minimum thickness. The side windows need not be operational. The hood must be closed and

securely latched while the vehicle is hooked to the sled.

The Ram Air hoods look sweet but there fiberglass, not sure it would hold up might do some spiderweb cracking.
