Brian,...are all BBI 05 type injectors 5 hole? [quess BBI only has stage one]
Any benefit with going with the 03 type, 7 {or is it 8?} hole inj...so to have more holes? or dos'nt this make much of a diff. ?

BBi also has a stage 1.5 for the 124* pattern.

Advantage for you Matthew? Very slight! Read the specs on our BBi pages! They show 76.2L/H for 04.5 and
78 L/H for the 03 pattern. http://smartyresource.com/BBiInjectors.aspx We have had great success running both the 143* and 124* patterns in several 04.5 - 07 trucks and both patterns worked excellent.

For your 05 you would be well served by staying with the 124* 04.5 style. Not enough reason to worry about going with the 143's unless you have an agenda to swap to the 03/04 pistons like John did.

Thank you!

I will give you my experiences and Brian can share his. BBI has the Stage 1.5's I think for the deep spray bowls, but, the Stage I's are a LOT more fuel than stock and it is easy to over tax the stock turbo and air delivery system, not to mention the LP and CP-3. Hint, I am already planning compounds and working on a custom UDC tune to compensate. I am dyno testing and while the TQ has jumped over stock injectors I ma loosing HP on the top end with stock air and fuel system.

Now, injector spray patterns, another animal to discuss. Theoretically 7 or 8 hole injectors SHOULD give better atomization and pattern delivery for efficiency as opposed to 5 larger streams of fuel with the later nozzles. Shape of the nozzles ports and the piston are going to play into this also so it is not a hard and fast rule, you have to take into consideration all the contributory components.

Based on my experiences, the 7 hole 143 Bosch 50 HP nozzles delivered better efficiency and power at lower rpms than the stockers. At the big end where HP is measured they were lacking, from lack of fuel and air or just the way I ran the timing to optimize the main operating range is the big question. You have to run timing with the 143 nozzles but not the same curve over the rpm range as the 124, easy to get too much timing and get the fuel cloud outside the piston bowl which is bad ju-ju. Really hard to tell until I make some more changes to the LP and freshen the CP-3 to see if it just wear or really nozzle design making the differences.

That's my s-s-s-s-tory and I'm stickin' to it. :)

HeeeHeeeeeeee!! Been a long time since i head That song, Cerb..! I'v broke the country habit a long time ago,.. now its gospel for me! :) I need something with purpose!

Anyway,...Great info friends! Thanks so much! Answering my questions with Meat! I'm chewing! I sure don't understand it all but i'll print this out and re-read it till i GOT IT!! :D

If you just need new Injectors and don't want to spend to much money and also give the core back then go with BD Diesels Remanufactured.
BD has all the, horrible expensive, OEM Bosch Equipment to do a proper Rebuild.

Just a thought.

New are the only ones i would consider......and i WILL be adding more water/dirt filteration before new injectors get ordered! I have a FASS [platium?] here from my old truck that i kept back before i sold it, only has one filter..... just need to put it on. Then prob. a 3rd filter after the stock one....YEOW!! it's sooooooooooooooooo easy to spend money on these things!!! but, but it's so fun to get the ups box and the droolin starts! well, maybe it started before..... :D

I have been running the BBI's Stg 1.5 since they came out. Very smooth driveability, idle. Well worth whatever price they are now...

Edit - My signature shows outdated info...

Tuning is what makes CR engines sing or perform. CR Injectors that are House mans or molested units are Junk and should be avoided, I cannot not count the Holes vs angles vs this style vs this maker. Tuning is what makes or kills CR engines regardless of the maker form Bosch to whoever. Internal modded bodies are just Not necessary unless you want some serious HP, My D-Max engine makes 1500+hp on just X injector without internal mods. Another important and overlooked area , Fuel weather its the $250.00 Injector or $450.00 unit, run trash or water thru them both will be ruin.
