Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) BD Boost Boots

I had to replace my turbo due to blown seals (911 post) and bought the BD Boots while I was at it. That was the second time the were soaked in oil and after 185,000 miles I didn't trust them. The question is, has anybody that has them noticed that the lowers are about 2" longer than the factory ones? I'm wondering if they are "cut to fit" or are you supposed to try to shove them over the second ridge? BTW, what a pain pulling the intercooler to flush it out. About 15 more bolts, some wires and the engine would be out!

Please let me know about the boots.

I have the BD boots also and , yes they seemed to be a bit longer than the stockers. I installed them all without tightening the clamps until all were in place. They seem to work just fine for me with no trimming. You may need to bend the driver side inner fender well out along the bottom edge (next to the intercooler boot) for a bit more clearence.

Thats a good tip every 2nd gen owner might want to look into. I have seen a ton of lower hoses rubbed through there. It may not look like they will touch but they swell up under pressure.

Thanks guys. I had already bent the fender for the stack ones and had to do even more with these.

Thats the reason I put a BD hose kit on to begin with, my stockers were almost rubbed through. i bent the inner fenders out and put everything together before tightening the clamps. I didn't have to do any trimming.
