I have been offered a pretty good deal on a new BD deisel Torque convertor, flex plate and valve body... I am planning on having the whole transmission redone.

I did some searches... couldnt find much. I was wondering if anyone out there had some experience with the parts. Even though its a deal, I would rather buy once and build once.

I have modest power additions to my dodge, and dont ever sled pull, or drag race, mainly like more power for fun... occasionally tow light to moderate loads.

So is there a much better choice or are these products sufficient for my uses.

thanks,

Chris

BD seems to stand behind their transmission parts pretty well. The big thing is to make sure you use top quality clutches in it when you overhaul it. DO you know what calibration the VB is? Tow, performance, race?

Try Goerend in Iowa, They will build to any spec you tell Dave what you are going to use the truck for and he will make recomendations on what to use. I don't trust BD due to a problem in sending a defective part back - - Brian swore they never recieved it - - FedEx said different - - had a signature from BD - - They he told me they had sent it back - - - asked for tracking number - - they couldn't provide one - - - finally showed up 3 weeks later - -had been shipped 4 days earlier. They made a believer out of me!

This is a personel opinion, may not represent experience of others

Yep, try Dave Goerend, call him at 563. 778. 2719

Well,

I guess I have decided to go nuts and get a full built transmission with billet parts...

spoke with DTT, and Suncoast, still cant get ahold of Goerend's yet. .

I am leaning towards Suncoast right now, but would rather wait till i can speak to Goerends...

so hopefully I can get Dave on the phone soon, then I will order and have it put in soon...

looking like full performance built, with billet input and hub, flex plate, and billet drum upgrade.

gonna max out a credit card for this but what the hell do it right the first time right??

Very good choices you've got there! I'll never use another bd transmission part. Got their heavy duty converter... totally hate it. It slips, too low stall speed, and the thing won't go into lockup all the time. Something to do with the way they make them. P. O. S. I personally like suncoast.

I have a Suncoast in my 2006.

Wait on Dave. He gets real busy. I have ordered from him and had to wait to hear back from him too. Its just a fact with a busy business.

HTS is a great option too. If this Suncoast gives me any more trouble I will be using HTS next time. I like what HTS is doing differently with the 48RE than most of the other builders.
