BD Diesel Super B "special" Turbo--anyone?

Just wandering if anyone has any experience with this turbo, claims it has huge boost with great street manners!---thanks

I can believe the high egt's, but slow spool? Those Super B's are quick spoolers!

yes i was looking at the super b special also. according to piers, they say "Think hx-40 airfow with hx-35 spool"

The only thing I can tell from what I have learned on BD's site forum is its a 64 cm turbo. If you research 64's they are not the best pic for a cummins because of surging issues.

I do believe a Super B Special is a 64/71/14. Same as a HTT series 71 with a 64 compressor wheel and/or a Industrial Injection super phat shaft 64.

I don't know what a plain Super B is... ... ... . maybe a 62/65/14?

I have no surging with my HTT 64/65/14

i recently talked to industrial injction, and they told me the super b special was very comparable to thier phat shaft series.

The old super b was a slow spooler, the new ones are S300's just like the Phat Shafts, HTB2.

Super B Special rocks. I have two customers locally and several others not so far away that are running them and love the way they spool. All around performance has been awesome and the prices are great. Almost stock 12 valve - plate slide forward - 4in exhaust and an intake is running one. Tows daily and the turbo spools like his 35. He's getting 22mpg btw.
