Anyone running this turbo? I can't find the specs on BD's site as far as a inducer wheel and housing size. I came across a pretty good deal on a new kit with one of these and am curious as how it compares to the HTT 62-12 I'm currently considering. Also, is anyone running the BD twins that run the Super B on top? I found a pretty good deal on a used set of twins in this configuration too.

If I should steer clear, and stay with the HTT let me know your thoughts there as well.

BTW, my main application is I want a good everyday driver, I don't want to lose spool up and I tow a 12k gooseneck 10-12 times a year.

Thanks in advance, Matt

I've had the single super B for over a year now and it's been great. Spools pretty quick. I tow 18,000lbs alot and this turbo does fine. I changed my mind again and am going to order the twin upgrade kit in a couple days. I just need a change, getting bored with what I got.

Any idea of how much HP you are supporting with that Super B?

On another subject, how are the Red Top Optima's working for you in the cold MN winter? I wasn't sure if that was enough for our CTD's. I was considering the yellow tops.

I appreciated it Tramplineman.

Any other comments or opinions are appreciated. Thanks, Matt

Any other thoughts on the BD turbos? Especially the twin set?

After some research today, looks like the Super B is equivalent to 57-14.

I'm probably around 430. I'll have the twin set soon. As for the Red Tops, since I put them in I've been living between California and Arizona, no MN winters.

I recently had put one of BD's super B single on my 12 valver and so far I'm happy with it. I was glad it came with a new downpipe and everything else needed for the install... ... ... . performs pretty good.

Well, looks like I've worked the deal on the twins. I can't wait. Looks like I may need to go ahead and O-ring and stud the head. Just afraid to blow the head gasket since I have an HO. The second turbo is not wastegated so I'll need to watch my boost gauge closely if I don't oring it. Man, I can't wait! Oo.

i've been running the super B for over a year now. absolutely love it. with the TST it is very nice combo. not sure about the HP but will hopefully find out this summer. lets just say the truck makes it to 100 a LOT quicker than i ever thought a 7000 lb truck could.

Hey Matt,

When you get the twin set on please post how there are and perform. I am considering this setup also. BD say's they are good up to 550hp. I was thinking of going to 500hp max for now but that will change once there :-laf. I did talk to Mike from Mike's Custom Trucks in North Dakota on this setup, he installed it on a 99 and it is at the 600's level. Mike said it is a sweet kit and good performance. He did recommend o-ring and studding the head to me. Maybe this summer I will have enough money for the clutch and 150hp injectors.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to getting them on, but I think I'll need to at least put head studs in before getting the twins on. Looks like I'll pick the twins up on Wednesday.

Gotta figure out one thing though. I'm not sure I'll have room for my Scotty II air intake after getting the twins in. I may have to change out systems. Anybody know what air intake systems fit well with twins?

I'll keep you posted on how this all works out and how they perform.

Thanks, Matt
