Thunder in Muncie info?

yee haa, what a good time... . And the dyno even worked!

My Dad's 1990 CTD with over 270K on the clock put a smoking 152 HP to the rollers :) What is even better is the whole 528 mile trip including dyno time took 26 gallons of fuel!

OK C'mon Cliff, tell us more! Did anyone else dyno or did your dad's smoking 152hp break the dyno?? LOL

How was the weather and the BOMBvoy and all that?? Sure wish I could have made it :(

BD dyno day

Was great, weather got better as day went on,dyno worked all day I dynoed for 1st time with a 244 at rear wheels not to bad for a TOTAL stock 01,6sp,H. O. Thanx to BD,the food was great, new brake (installed today)LOVE IT

Well, my truck only put 236 HP to the ground with my stock auto transmission at 111,000 miles. The tech said I could probably get another 20 or 30 HP out of it if the torque convertor would stay locked up. What happens is the throttle gets to a certain position and engages the transmission kickdown feature, which unlocks the TC.

Anyway, I figured I was between 200 and 250 hp, so I wasn't far off. I've only added a TST #6 250 hp/630 tq plate and the Psychotty. I don't know if this plate has a "flywheel" rating or a "ground" rating. If I figure a 25% driveline loss, I'm making about 315 hp at the flywheel.

I calculated my torque using the following formula: (5250 x HP)/RPM. The printout gave the max HP at 48 mph in direct drive. On the way home, I noted the RPM at this speed in direct drive, which was 2125 rpm. So, my calculated torque is around 583 ft-lbs.

So, MORE POWER! But, I need to save my pennies for an upgraded transmission first. That is going to be expensive. Anybody care to email me what it cost them to get the full meal deal on a DTT installed?

Dyno Days

Thanks BD,

Another great day with the diesel gang.

WOW 383 HP  . I was thrilled :D . Thanks Chris for taking me from first to last in less than a minute, like I knew it was above the HP class I was entered in  :p . This was the first time I had this truck on the dyno. I may not have won, but no other brand did better.

Hey Brian, when you find my coat e-mail me at -- email address removed -- and I will give you my address. With all the excitement I forgot to purchase my 2 low kit. We will look forward to the next Dyno Days. Sam

Thanks to you BD for your hospitality and another great BD Dyno Days! Everyone had a great time. Bummer for the rain that cancelled the Show & Shine.

Brian,

I don't know where you got those hamburgers, but those were great!

I was real happy with my dyno run. I had taken off the HX40 that I was running at Diesel Thunder in Spokane on the DynoJet (453 HP) and installed Piers turbo. 427 HP on the Mustang at BD with Piers Turbo really surprised me!

Thanks BD!

Thanks a lot, Brian, I had a great time.

It was good to see you guys again. As it turned out it was a great day for it, too. The rain stopped just before I crossed the border and the border crossing itself was not a problem either way.

Big Bob, Did you get the new trailer home OK? How does it tow?

Steve

Got the first dyno run on my pickup and got 288 which I didn't think was bad. However, since I'm so close to 300 I need to change something to make it to the 300 club.

Had lotsa fun. I wanted to stay and chat with more folks, but my band played saturday night, and I had to get back to Seattle asap, especially after having trouble getting through the border.

434 hp wasn't too bad. After the dyno runs,I got back in my truck and saw my Powermax remote was set on level 8 and not level 9! Oops,I robbed myself of a few hp. I probably would have tied Jim.

Thanks BD!

I just have to say, Brian, that Mike and I had a heck of a great time at dealer day and dyno day. Thanks for all you did for us! We got to see some wicked trucks doing some wicked things out in the street that just don't happen in such public places out on the east coast. You usually have to hide down some side street and even then you'll get caught. Excellent time once again, and we're looking forward to doing this the next time it comes around!

I was almost there. Sorry I couldn't make it ,but sounds like you guys had a great time. Looking forward to April.

How was the border? I know last October I didn't part my hair correctly and they searched my truck.

Cheers, Joe:)

Papa,

I looked at 'em cross eyed and they sent me into the imigration office! I don't think he liked my red hair color, or my "ME WANT BEER!" sticker across my picture on my drivers license.:D

Hey Chris T,

I don't know what it is with that place up there, but we sure seem to get away with alot. For instance... drag racing on a busy two lane road, stopping traffic behind us because of the thick black smoke both trucks had left, and there's oncoming traffic while we're doing about 70.

Mike -

They run you and I through the mill at the border, but they drag race down Main Street and spin donuts in the cross walks.

Go figure. :p

Joe

My bet is if we were up there doing those smoke shows, burnouts, etc. on an regular day, we would be in a lot more trouble.

But on Dyno Days, with all the people BD brings into the area. And the money that they believe come with it. I think its in the best interest to look the other way and they ( the cops ) know it. First time someone get hurt or we hit someone then its all over.

Thanks BD,

What a surprise today :) . I see the UPS truck leaving my driveway, I opened the door and there is a box from BD. I brought it in the house opened it (just like x-mas ;) :D ) and inside was a BD leather coat  . Very nice coat. You guys are GREAT. Thank You, Sam. :D :D :D
