Did the governor spring kit today and I agree with the other guys about a very touchy throttle tip in,and the egt in fifth gear go thru the roof I can' go to full throttle any suggestions? One note about the install not as bad as I feared but time consuming but it tells you in the instructions to measure the distance from the top of the stud to the nut before disassebly this was impossible I got a different reading every time and I had a digital slideing caliper, bottom line is there is no way that I got it exactly like it was. I didn't get the valve springs installed yet so I will have to use a light foot but 3500 rpm is easy in the lower gears,I guess a call to Piers monday is in order.

Check my latest thread "Gov spring kit install, easy, easy". I adjusted the locknuted allen screw on the end of the AFC in about 4-5 turns and cleared up my same problem. Now drives like stock but more power. I'm very happy.

ramman what cam plate are you running, what position is it in, what spring are you running in the afc housing & where do you have the afc housing located???? Here's how it should be, cam plate in the stock or back of stock position, medium afc spring, afc housing 3/4 of the way forward, star wheel "about" 1/4 of the way back. Some of the cam plates have quite the angle cut in them [ bottem part ] and the arm thats supposed to ride on the cam plate will slip underneath, giving one big bottem end fuel, then depending on the cut & position of the cam plate the arm will start climbing out from under the plate, giving a drop in power, then go over to where it's supposed to be & then all **** breaks loose as the fuel starts coming back on #ad
