i recently had a BD pressure lok put on my 1999 auto transmission. . wow it made it feel like a 10 ton truck. . first shift was at 20 mph... very firm. . even the downshifts as you stopped were very firm... . now after 1500 miles, i can not even tell it is on there... first shift is at about 5 to 8 mph like before the installation... has anyone had problems with the BD Pressure Lok???

A couple of cenarios for you. #1: It sounds like the Pressureloc may have been mis-adjusted on the initial installation. The reason I say this is because the pressures were probably too high, causing the governor to suggest shifting to the next gear due to high pressure. #2: the Pressureloc may have binded or stuck in a partially-applied position, again causing higher pressures on the TV lever. I would say the Pressureloc has become unstuck and is now working as it should. The Pressureloc is only engaged while the TC Clutch is locked, meaning all shifting is done. When you let of the throttle, the TC unlocks and the Pressureloc will dis-engage. The Pressureloc should NEVER affect the shifting from 1-2 or 2-3. If it does this, there is a problem. Hope this helps.
