has anybody installed the bd pressureloc system on there rig ??? is this worth putting on ?? what type of pressure gains on the transmission have you noticed ?? where do you get the air supply from to operate the cylinder ?

George, I am having the BD presure lock put on today, also a BD exhaust brake and torque lock and guages (atf temp and egt). I'm putting in a TST plate on Sunday (it arrived yesterday). I'll test it by pulling my tractor and trailer, then taking a 13k 5th wheel up to Louisville for Equitanna next Wednesday. I'll give a report on how it all works when I get back.

I have a BD Pressure Loc. It works fine, pressure is about 30% higher when locked up. I had it installed by a BD dealer and they give you a slip after install with the old and new pressures in several different modes. After the trans is warmed up while towing I no longer get any slippage towing a 13k 5th wheel up steep grades in overdrive. They all seem to slip a bit when cold. The "Loc" is engaged by vacuum, not air.

Haven't got to pull since BOMBing yet. Of course, never slipped the torque converter lock-up when stock, we'll see on the vacation next month to Colorado. Question: When it slips, does it disengage totally, or is it a nasty slip, like when a standard clutch is slipping? If it's the latter, am I correct in assuming you're in the process of really tearing up the torque converter when it IS slipping?

Nasty manual trans slip. #ad

A bad thing, tears your heart out when it happens. (Dumps all that clutch material into your trans fluid too. ) Has anybody had any luck eliminating it with the shift kit? A different T/C?

I was afraid of that. But like I said, so far, so good. I think the valve body or pressure loc are the two best options to go with. I guess if mine starts slipping in the mountains next month, I'll just have to back out of it a little.

I just Ordered Mine today!. Should be here tomorrow, And in the truck by 8pm.

I just got back to Oh. from Ut. Installed 230/605 kit before I left. Had a slight vibration at light throttle. Vibration would go away under moderate to heavy throttle. I'm guessing"after reading post's about trans. clutch lockup" my problem was low line pressure. Don't know if any damage was done. Maybe a pressureloc would be a good idea, considering the cost.

See my thread TRIP REPORT under 2nd generation drive train.

A lot of slip will over ride the clutch and increase RPM - very bad! I had that happen one time.

I had a few instances where it started slipping at low throttle. This was more of a chatter. Also not good.

I will have the BD pressure lock before I go on my next trip.

I have a question about lock-up --- will post it separately under 2nd gen drive train.
