Is anyone out there running the BD propane system? I thinking about giving propane a try and was just looking for some input. Thanks in advance.

Powershot 2000 propane

Love my Powershot 2000 propane kit... it seems like the safest kit on the market. The price is lower than most, and the personal attention/customer service from Keith Long is way out there... .

Boy does the truck haul with it on... it comes on at 2 psi of boost, and cuts off at 20 psi, (though you can set it where you want to) which gives me the power to overcome the turbo lag, and power & fuel economy when towing my travel trailer.

Check it out at www.dieselperformanceproducts.com

BD or Bully Dog?

Kurt, do you refer to BD in Canada or Bully Dog in Idaho? I assume you mean Bully Dog right?

I took a ride in a truck with the Bully Dog system on it, in Muncie. they were fine tuning the point at which it came on. and man... . when it hit the boost would jump about 7PSI and it would put you back.

it seemed pretty cool to me. :D

I would just like to see the guy at the gas station when you return your empty and then go and hook up the new one to your truck, before leaving. :D

reminds of getting pulled over one time by a state cop, he was writing me a ticket and looked in the back seat and saw the Nitrous bottle on the floor. he asked me to put it in the hatchback to be safer, and that it should have a cap on it bla bla bla...

I just barely got out of there, without him realizing it was wired in. and active. :D

The BullyDog system blew the head gasket on a Cummins Ram belonging to one of my best friends, the system they were selling a year ago was poorly designed and over-priced, IMO. I have no idea if they have improved it since then. I also know that My6EatsV8's had the same system blow up his turbo a few months ago, there was a big thread on that in the forums.

My preference is for the Powershot 2000, as I've tried it, and like it well enough to keep using it. I believe it's the safest system on the market. The big deal for me is how it gets rid of most of the turbo lag (I'm running an Hx40 turbo) at lower rpm's, making for better launches off the line. And when my truck is not at the drag strip, it's pulling a 6000lb. travel trailer, and the propane keeps me from losing any fuel mileage...

Briar Hopper, like to hear some more about this as I've got an HX-40 and am looking at my options to reduce the lag. I'm not racing it, but would like a reliable/effective/safe way to get the beast to jump up and go off the line without choking everyone in the neighborhood. Looking forward to hearing more about Piers twin set-up, but would like whatever details you'd care to provide on your exerpience with the Powershot 2000 in terms of cost, installation, operation, and performance. Thanks in advance :D

Tom,

Thanks for the input. I think I'll probably go with the Powershot. Hope you and the black beast are doing well.
