has anybody got the bd short shift kit, does it work well

:-laf I installed one on my 2001 TJ and it works. I will install one on my NV4500 on my 1968 ford bronco when it's running.

I have one on mine. The throws are greatly reduced, but effort is increased. Sometimes I overshoot 3rd and get hung up if I'm trying to shift too fast. There's a spot between 3rd and 5th where the shifter will get stuck and not slide into either gear w/o going back to neutral. Seems there's some slop that wasn't there when stock.

Overall, though, I'm pleased with it. I wouldn't go back.

The only thing short I like

The short-shifter is a winner. I thought I had a problem but it turned out to be the locknut wasn't torqued down enough. Your first indication will be when the shaft begins turning. Just get yourself a couple of end wrenches and pull the locknut down as tight as you can get it.

Another problem that pops up has nothing to do with the short-shifter. The disk on top of the shifter (the one that shows 1-6 and R) tends to rotate. It's the disk that's rotating, not the shaft. Do a search and you'll find the solution.

Just put one on mine and I am happy with it. It improves the feel of the shifting and makes it easier to find third in my opinion. :-laf
