BD short shifter

OK guys I've searched the old posts and haven't found a lot so I'm coming directly to you for the answers. I'm thinking of getting one of BD short shifters from Geno's, I've read that the older ones were prone to breaking, has that been fixed? Will this shifter help with making the shifts a little smoother on the sometimes "cranky" NV5600 transmission? Any other input that I'm over looking? Thanks a million for the future feedback.

I bought one and installed it about 10,000 miles ago. My original shifter was quite vague when it came to gear selection. The BD not only shortened the shifts, but made it easier to find the right gear. I still have a little hitch between 1-2 and 2-3, but I think that may be a gear oil or clutch adjustment problem. The rest are pretty slick. No problems with breakage, but I don't row very aggressivley.

Installed 1 in Dec. 03. No problems since. Shift is a little shorter but the rest of the sorry transmission shifting remains. Going from 4-5 and 5-6 you still have to press to the right pretty hard to get it there.

I have one installed on my '02 since '03 or '04. No problems and works as advertized. I recommend it.

I've got 3 trucks... all have the kit installed and when my BIL and Son drove my truck they wanted one for their trucks... I'm guessing we have 750K miles between the trucks with no problems and everyone is happy... .

500000mi. Love it. It leaves more room between lever and console in 6th and also easier gear selection. It is not a Hurst and you can`t speed shift the 5600 any way.

Had on in my truck for about 150k and broke the extension coming out or the trans. Shifting on my trans sucked even from the factory and was even worse with the kit, but i still kept it in till it broke. I dont blame the kit because I also broke 2 shifter handles. It is worth getting, but will not fix the shifting.

I've had the BD ss in two trucks including my current truck, luv em and haven't had a problem.
