I just got this monthe Diesel Power mag in the mail and I was wondering if anyone has installed the BD power steering box brace? and if it works? The brace lists for $200. 00 according to this mag. :)

Well the only way I can tell you how well theese systems work is my experience with the first stabilizer thingy. The BD one has just come out and I will tell you my similar product findings. The DSS has been on my truck for 3 years now and I still swear by it. The most immediate thing I noticed was how much more "responsive" the truck is in tight spaces like parking lots. More wheel turn for the turns of the steering wheel made. The steering box moves ALOT on an unsupported stock dodge. Add slightly more tire under the truck and it moves ALOT more. The brace keeps the box still and makes the tie rods and stuff do what they need to do ... ... . turn the wheels.

Looks to me BD copied DSS steering stabilizer:eek:

Check out Defiant Truck Products heres the link. ;)

The BD model allows you to install the original steering stabilizer below the unit which in turn allows it to be used with a lift kit such as the blocks that are installed with the KORE kit, the DSS unit cant be used with the KORE kit because the steering stabilizer is reinstalled on top ( between the truck and the DSS unit) of the kit.

Just installed the BD unit on my truck last weekend, and test drove it yesterday (unloaded) for the first time.

As far as the product quality goes, it is perfect. It fits perfect, easy to install, looks great, and is well engineered. Keep in mind my truck is a 4x2, and I definitely could feel more precise steering control, but I would not say it knocked my socks off. Perhaps it makes more of a difference on a 4x4?. I think it will help most when towing, because my truck wanders quite a bit.

Anyway, I would highly recommend it nonetheless.

I have the Defiant steering stabilizer and I bought their rock shield at the same time. Both are very high quality pieces and I was very impressed with the owner Paul Fox when I called with questions about it fitting around my KORE sway bar and pillow blocks. Everything fits very well and works excellent. I like the fact that its much less bulky than the BD or DSS as well.

I did this 2 weeks ago. That afternoon the magazine was in the mail... ... Whew, same time to install.

I bought it from Geno's. Great service and price.

There is no more slop. Great product, and a must install if you don't want sloppy steering.

I too have the KORE blocks, and needed to get some longer metric bolts before I started the project. M10x1. 5x70 flangehead capscrews.
