I have put this upgrade on my 98 4x4's and it helped. They both had over 200k miles on them before I put the upgrades on. It did make some difference, well worth the cost and wasnt hard to put on.

I have the BD DSS on my 02, It helped a whole lot. My DSS looks like the one you mentioned in your post, same parts & everything. Good unit.

Cant remember which ones I have but one was about half cost of the other and there is no difference that I can tell. They look the same, same bearing and mounted up the same. The first one came from Geno's, it was the higher costing one.

I have the DSS on my '97. Was there when I bought it. It does help support the output shaft & pitman arm. Like the others say wether it's BD or DSS they are great upgrades.

Certainly won't hurt you.

Thanks for the feedback, y'all. I also see PSC makes one. It appears to be a copy of the DSS tried and true design. Like the DSS, it's made on this side of the pond, too! Gotta like that. :)

DSS on my truck and well worth the cost. 3RD gen track bar at same time and steering as good as when first bought. Track bar is DSS also.

These were the best two things I did to mine - going w/3rd gen track bar resolved replacing the 2nd gen POS unit every year or so. 5 years going strong and no play. Oo.
