I have the dead pedal issue that so many have talked about on the forum. I have a 2014 2500 4x4 club cab and I love the truck except for the 6 speed's shifting characteristics.
It does flare the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts and it grates my nerves because I know it's slipping the TC as it flares.
Now if I romp on it, yes, it moves through the gears cleanly for the most part. Dealer said not to worry. Yeah right.
My questions are 2. First, for those of you who have the TSB, does it resolve any of the flared shifting that you might have noticed?
Second, how does the TSB affect your mileage if at all?

I installed the tsb and ts Stryker unit at the same time. I have the tsb set at 50% sensitivity. World of difference the way the truck responds, gets up and runs. As far as shift pattern/flare changes, I haven't noticed a difference over the way it was before I added the units. I can't tell you if your mileage will change due to the fact I added the Stryker unit. Mine did bump up 1-2mpg depending on driving habits.
Calibrated performance is what I'm looking at next since they add trans tuning to their programming. The ts unit is just an inline injection duration module.

You don't have to buy any kind of box to use the TSB do you? How does it affect your warranty? I have only 33k on my truck and have the extended plan to 2019 or 100k miles aND don't want to void that.

A vehicle manufacturer will always look for a way to get out of warranty work, and consumers adding accessories/parts to their truck will be on the short end of the stick.

Stryker claims its undetectable but I don't know. I would take the unit off the truck if you need warranty work done. Check out their website for more details.

Your trans is unlocking between shifts, not slipping.
So if the TC unlocks and the revs climb, that would be a "slip" right? Especially if the speed does not increase as much as the revs climb...
Flares in the rpms are NOT normal.
The lock/unlock cycles should be quick and not lazy, roundabout, and ambiguous.
My 06 was much more precise and went through gears without drama.

The TC is designed to slip when the lockup clutch un-locks. If it didn't you would stall the engine each time you came to a stop. Also if the TC did not Unlock between gears the shifting would be very harsh and damage things shorting the transmission's life. RAM has updated the programing, the newist flash (I don't know the number) seems to have shortened the unlock time. I've noticed the flair of the engine RPM's is much less than when the truck was new back in 2013. My advise see you'r frendly RAM dealer pay for them to up date you'r truck to the most current computer flash and just drive it and let it work the way they intended it to. Stop over thinking things it'll drive you nuts if you do....

I have the Aison trans and have not noticed flare in shifting. I also have not noticed any increase in mileage from installing the TSB. Just less lag in the first three gears and boost seems to be a bit more powerful. But I have had in for quite awhile now and may have forgotten what the power was like.....after 5 seconds of waiting for it to engage.

I had the dealer take a look and check for the latest updates. No change. I have Maxcare on the truck but I am afraid that as soon as I'm out of warranty, the transmission will be a mess. It's beyond me why RAM cannot make a transmission that shifts crisply even with some measure of torque management. My 06 has a Smarty S-06 and it made the truck drive so much better! I guess I'll have to wait the warranty out and then do some reprogramming and a transmission upgrade at that point. Right now I'll drive it and let RAM pay for any problems.
Thanks for your replies guys!
