I was just wondering what you guys thought of the BD triple loc torque converters. I kind of over heated my trans last week and am pulling it to do a rebuild and new torque converter and this is what i was thinking of running. Thanks for any input.

Jeremy

I have a BD Trans in my 2001. 5 and a BD ex brake on my 2006.
I personaly will never buy anything from them again.
You would get better service and supprt from WalMart if they hand transmisions on the shelf.

The trans is a POS!
The list of problems is a mile long.
I finally just gave up on them and had the old trans rebuilt localy.
I also put in an ATS triple lock converter.
No problems after 30,000 miles.
I tow a 9,000 pound trailer with the truck, no racing or sled pulling.

Would an ATS 5 star torquer converter be a better choice? I just want to make a good decision and not have to pull it apart again in 2 months. Thanks.

I see a lot of thread about BD transmission problems. But I run just their components and have had excellent luck with them. I have a converter and valvebody and pressurelock and they have performed flawlessly so far. I sled pulled 3 times last summer and daily drive it. I have about 10k miles on them with no trouble. I agree about customer srevice issue but I let my local BD dealer deal with them. They are tighter with their info than the CIA is if you try to work with them as a single customer.

When it comes time for complete transmission I will most likely go with a Billet DTT.

Thanks for the response. Im pulling my transmission out on saturday and we will be doing the rebuild next week. Which torque converter are you running?

Jeremy

I am in the same boat as the above ... .

Problems with the BD trani and there customer service ... or lack there of... .

#@$%!

I guess I am one of the lucky ones who has had excellent products and service from BD. I had a TC, VB, and their pressure loc in my 03. After I upgraded to the twinturbo setup, I had BD completely rebuild my transmission, and it is still perfoming absolutely flawlessly for the individual who bought it from me. I have never had any problems with the customer support either. Good Luck.

KEEP ON TRUCKIN'
