BD's Anti-Defueling Device

Brand new 24 valve 3rd gen cummins on Ebay

You guys that have bought a complete Bd trans, how do you like it?I've been researching trans data for a long time and trying to make up my mind between rebuilding mine myself or buying a complete trans.

BD's is 1000$ cheaper than anyone elses, so I'm wanting to know how they hold up over the long term and how you like them.

Thanks.

BD

JKH, I have a complete BD transmission and converter in my 98 12-valve. It's been in for 18 months and 22000 miles. I have had no problems with it at all. I dropped the pan with 20000 miles on it was as clean as it gets. I tow a 5000-lb trailer so it doesn't get much of a work out. I can fry the tires at will and with the trailer on it will crawl away at idle. I have towed through the mountains at over 105F and sat in stop and go traffic for over and hour and have never seen over 170 in the pan. When I bought mine all of the vendor’s prices were about the same. So check the prices carefully. I’m not familiar with BD’s customer service, haven’t needed it. Hopefully some one with a lot of miles on theirs will give you some feedback. PM me if you have anymore questions.

Jeff

jkh,

I have had BD's complete transmission for almost 14 months and a little over 13,000 miles.

See signature, I tow this regularly on a stretch of road that I have to stop or slow down and turn 9 times in a 70 mile stretch. It's like stopping and racing with 22,000 pounds in tow every 7. 8 miles with 290 HP, I could turn the box up more but don't need to so I don't, trying to save the injection pump. I climb a very steep grade leaveing the camp ground and impress everyone when I can do it at 1,000 RPM when everyone else use's 1,800-2,000 RPM's to do the same.

On a scale of 1 to 100 I would say I am 90% satisfied. After all nothing is perfect, and I am almost impossible to satisfy.

So far, holding up fine.

I don't like to advertise for no one, and I am not saying BD is the best, do your research, there are alot of good transmissions out there, one I would recommend along with bd would be the one in Colorado or Iowa.

Thanks for the input.

According to the web sites , B-D is under 3000$,the others are over 3000. It is a pretty big difference. I still have to call them and talk but I wanted to here what people had to say about this one first. Thanks.
