I anybody out there running BD V's with an auto transmission? If so I assume it would be a built up transmission (DTT, BD, etc). Now the question is are you running into any stalling issues?

I am looking for more HP on #2 alone and I am wondering if a step up to BD V's would work.

Thanks,

Doug

You already got the fuel

Doug, don't get me wrong, I love the BD 5's, but I really doubt that there would be enough of a gain to going with them over the SM's. CSutton had them in his rig (BD 5's and an auto) and had some issues, I believe with the truck surging in stop and go traffic. I'm sure Chris will see this and reply.

Why not try a NOS kit ? I hope to add one this year, if the funds permit. They have a progressive controller available that lets you dial in exactly when you want the NO2 added and those that have dynoed with it have some big numbers ( CUMMINTSTRKIN sp?) comes to mind.

Seems to me that you have more than enough fuel to warrant a NOS kit to break that 500 RWHP barrier.

i have this setup and on my 02 they have a better idle than on my 01 eth. it's up to you but the 5's will give you another 25+ hp over the sm for $1k. or add lpg or nos or both:D the only problem i have with my tight convertor is smoke issues. they smoke way worse in my auto vs my stick.

Big Saint is correct in his statement of the BD5's in city traffic---stop sign to stop sign city block driving was pain-truck wants to go and the antilock brakes kick in and out when you're trying to stop-other than that you could kill the engine once in awhile when shifting from P to R or P to D directly--you need to go from P to N and then to R or D and when putting it in P always stop in N before---once you get used to doing this it's not a big deal---sometimes the idle was rough and other times it's OK---on the bright side they seem(haven't dyno'd them yet) to make the truck get up and move quicker than the DDIII's---I'm planning to put them back in soon and see if I can tame the city driving aspects of them down, with some tinkering or a COMP box... ... chris

have you got the cold start reflash yet? it helped with my eth. i don't know why it helped but bully dog suggested it for the big injectors. i think my 02 came with it.

i'm not sure of the #. when i took my truck in they just loaded the most current program.

they way i could tell it was done, is when i turn on the key my lift pump only runs 1 second and then shuts off, were it used to run 5-10 seconds.
