I have the BD Pup downloader and the Outlook monitor on my 03. The Outlook lets me monitor the rail pressure. The hardest its been run was on the dyno a few weeks ago. It did get to 26,000 psi at 29 psi boost. Normal day to day driving it goes from around 6,000 at idle to 22,000 with the extreme load set at 75%.

Hi Fuzzy Bear. I have an '03 HO, 3500, 4X4, 6-sp. , also. I've done an AFE Proguard-7 air intake system and a 4" exhaust system. I've been seriously thinking about the BD Power Pup and since You have one, was wondering how You like it? I would really appreciate Your opinions. I, also, have the BD X-monitor Pyro and boost guage. Thanks, for Your help, Fuzzy Bear. Joe F. (Buffalo).

Buffalo, I too have the AFE, but have not upgraded the exhaust. I really like the Pup. Power comes on nice and strong just off idle and seems to stay there. I dyno'd it a few weeks ago and at stock power setting it was 261hp. Extreme setting at 100% it was 381hp and 748tq. The torque was just coming down off peak when the hp kicked in. With the Outlook I can contol the power levels, so I have the extreme program loaded and for normal day to day run it at 75%. The screen diplays four windows and you can select whatever you want to display in any of them. Mine are set for boost, pyro, water temp and rail pressure. I have tried the 0-60 time and the hp/tq. It came with a mount adapter to fit in the opening of a gauge pod. I replaced the pillar with the SRT and mounted there. Really clean look. The underhood connections are pyro probe, map sensor plug and data port (where the dealer connects) plug. You might look at swapping out you X-monitor for that.

Fuzzy Bear. Thanks for the reply! Today, I talked with Mark at Bully Dog. Wanted to know about the stress on the turbo on the Performance and Extreme modes. He said that with the exhaust and the air intake system it shouldn't be a problem. I wonder? Some knoledgeable people, on this site, say that if you go over 70 HP, you are probably compromising the turbo. How does Your's run at the higher levels? What about your EGT's(pyro) and boost numbers? Any information You can provide would be greatly appreciated. If anyone else has info. or suggestions, I would appreciate that, also. Thanks Again. Joe F. (Buffalo)

EGTs are well in check. Haven't seen anything over 1150 even on extreme, but I'm not hauling a load either. The Outlook will defuel if it gets to 1250. I have not seen the boost get over 30psi, so I don't think there is much strain there. It will definitely smoke if you lag it. Your exhaust should help some there as its less restrictive than my stock system. You may see higher boost numbers too. I believe the Outlook set at 75% is the same as the performance setting. Its great for around town without a load although I think my clutch's days are numbered. Just a push on the Outlook joyknob and its 100% extreme. Great power, but at what I think is still a pretty safe level that won't scatter things under the hood. Bottom line, for the cost of an EZ, you get great power. The way I saw it is if I don't like it, I should still be able to resell it without taking a big beating. But right now I am quite satisfied.
