Actually, in matters like this, anything north of Santa Barbara is not considered So Cal. Arroyo Grande is definetly a northern issue! :D

Those of us who really live in Northern California consider the San Francisco Bay Area as being in Central California. It's not Northern until you get north of the bay area mess.

Screwed over (so. cal. style)

Here is one possible way to intimidate !!! Any members who ask for his address, phone, e-mail, etc. could be provided same by private message.

Then those so inclined could..... call maybe once a day from any handy, email occasionally, us mail etc. would you please pay this bill. 6000 messages later from umpteen members who would love to help ! Kinda like a hike trip with a rock in your shoe. I volunteer to be one of the first to call his cell phone he won't recognize these differant phone numbers and pick up.

Like my dad used to say, bus is business and should be done ''cash in fist'' with a smile but still "in fist''. ... ... R C

Too bad we could not have a score card for this. A high score no problem a low one and a reason, think twice. this way they would only burn one member hopefully, and every one eles would know.

Texas Saying!

There is and old saying in Texas that goes something like this:

"Theys some people that jest need shootin"

"Hey Paw, Git the gun"

Have a nice day,

Denny

I really take offense to some of the comments about Southern California. It was not the location that has no pride, and abused the trust.

Most of my friends would never steal, or cheat form anyone, and in fact, they would cheat themselves first to avoid taking from others.

I have also sold severl items on the classifieds, and have been burned twice. One was a TDR member that I sent an air cleaner to to try out, and asked him to send me what he thought it was worth. Guess he didnt think it was worth anything. I dont remember what state he was in, but it WASNT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! Another sent me a bad check. I guess I could have held the item until the check cleared, but some of us cant imagine being like that, so we trust others too much.

Anyways, the dishonest are the real losers because some day their conscience will catch up with them.

I just wish we could back off the generalizations, and stick to the real bad guy.

Yeah, I could have laughed this thing off, but it wasnt funny being called dishonest.

First, I am from Southern California and I have no problem bashing this place. It is the location in fact. More often you will find scubbags in So Cal ready to give you the old lemon twist. We did stick to the bad guy but the generalization that scum lives in socal is true. Also, So Cal is one of the biggest H--- Holes in this country. Nobody is calling you dishonest, I'm from socali and I dont feel dishonest. I think all the problems stem from liberals and diversity... . Thats why this place is so bad we live in.....

I made a comment about So Cal, but this doesn't really have anything to do with So Cal.

This mug is up in central CA, near San Luis Obispo. That's a 4. 5 hour drive one way for me. I'd drive 100-120 miles each way to knock on somebody's door and help make something right. There is always something about being face to face, that helps make things git done. Bein' 6'4" doesn't hurt the cause either. His not bein' here in So Cal is what's keepin' me from givin' him a friendly-type visit this week. I'll be up there sooner or later, and I'll knock on his door sooner or later, it just may take a little longer... which might be good for him. It'll give him a little time to get a few e-mails or phone calls to let him know this is a small town.

So Cal isn't any different than anywhere else when it comes to people. I travel, and this is what I've seen. There's people that do the right thing, and thems that don't. TDR members are a great bunch of guys from everything I've seen, and I'm proud to be a member. If there is some guy out there that's giving TDR members a bad name, then he needs straightening out. He could be in CA, TX, Mich... wherever.

I'm an elevator man. I can tell you that I could be anywhere in the country ( and quite a few places outside ), and if I had a problem and needed help, I could get it with a phone call. Likewise, if an elevator man needed a hand with something, and I could give it, there'd be no questions asked and nothing expected. TDR looks to be the same type of group. How many of us have the Travel Companion printed if we're hittin' the road.

This doesn't have anything to do about geography... it's just a mug trying to use distance to take advantage of a good natured TDR member... and that ain't right. Catchin' a break when you need one can be pretty helpful when you're away from home, and if some mug is out there messin' it up for all of us... well THAT needs fixin'. When I pointed out he wasn't from So Cal, it just meant he wasn't gettin' a visit from me this week... if he was in So Cal, he would. I'm not sure how the Central Coast people keep their varmints in line, but when I'm up there next, I expect I'll find out. ;)

We southern Californians do have our faults, but there are far worse in other states. Take my cousin for example, I went to Arizona for a team penning, the prick found out I was leaving town so he flew in from TEXAS and screwed around with my fiance!! Talk about being stabbed in the back! Now, 6 months later, they are married and live right down the street from me. The worst part is I lost a '03 LWB 4 door CTD in the process. I knew her for 10 years and was engaged to her for almost 3 of them!! So like I said, we may have our problems, but I've seen worse come from other states!!

Your cousin did you a favor, write that BEEEOTCH OFF!

And then ask him if he likes SLOPPY 2ND'S and most importantly, ask him

if he likes the way you taste?

Hope I am the only trusting Idiot. I advertised my 3500 for sale on this site and got a call from a fellow in southern California. We made a tentive agreement over the phone and he flew up here. My wife and I picked him up at the airport, drove him to our house, fed him, let him sleep here and sold him the truck. He brought along some fuel injectors and I installed them for him and sold him my EZ box. He was supposed to trade a exhaust brake or send me $400 for my labor and the box. I have not seen the money 6 months later, he will not return any calls or accept any when I call his cell#. I am about to turn the whole thing over to a collection agency. I know it is not big money, but right is right. Just be aware that all of the TDR members are not ethical or honerable. If there are any intimidating TDR members in the San Deago area that would like to make a couple of hundred $ let me know. :( :(

PM him and tell him, , , If he loans you his old lady for the weekend you call it EVEN STEVEN

This thread has run it's course and is being locked for obvious reasons.

What had started as a chance to blow off some steam has now turned into a bad example of getting carried away. I thought it was clear enough a few posts back by showing an excerpt from the TDR guidelines so after receiving a complaint this thread is now closed.
