Bed Covers

Doing some research into a possible bed cover for my 2017 2500 SB. I see there are retractable, folding and soft covers. I have an auxiliary fuel tank/tool box that sits just below the rail. So, would need easy access to that. I am leaning toward the folding.

Opinions from those who have a bed cover?

How much clearance do you have below the rail? The diamondback is pretty slick, but I wish I had gone with my first choice of the Bakflip F1 or MX2.

Maybe 1/2 to 1" to the top of of the tool box.

Look at the BakFlip covers. They can completely fold up and out of the way. And can travel in any position you can secure it in.

It has only been 6 months, but finally got my bed cover installed. Ended up up with a roll up type, Truxedo Truxsport. I thought it would work best with my tank/toolbox I have installed. Local shops wanted around $425.00 buy and install. Ended up getting one on Amazon and installed myself...saved around $100.00.

I've got Truxedos low pro unit, it came with the truck. First cover i have had and I honestly planned on yanking it off as soon As I got the truck home . It's saving grace has been how compact it rolls up, when secure it sits tight against the back of the cab and doesn't protrude past the bulk head of the bed. It seems to be rather durable, the frame which sets on top of the bed rails has taken a few good hits and has yet to break.

I don't use it often but for those rare occasions when you want to keep something dry it's nice to have .

We do a lot of Rv'ing, so items get carried in the bed . Needed something to keep them from getting wet and hidden. Watched a few YouTube reviews on the Tuxedo and they all seemed to be pretty good.

I have had tri-folds and hard flip covers on different trucks. I have a roll up now and love it.
