2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Bed Swap?

Any one know if a 3rd gen bed will fit on a 2nd gen? I want to replace my bed but I only find a lot of 3rd gen beds on ebay. Or does anybody know of a good place to get used take offs? I am looking for a white SB for an '01.

Unfortunately there are several differences between the 2nd & 3rd Gen beds. Body lines, frame attachment points, width and length, etc. I'm sure if someone really wanted to they could do the swap, but that might be considered redneck engineering

Too bad you aren't closer. i know where several are around here. I would say you need to talk to your local horse trailer dealers. Most of them also sell flatbeds and they shoudl know the best place to find one.

Also utility bed makers are always taking off beds to install their utility beds.

Locating beds

I have been trying to find some loacl places that sell utility beds but I have found that it is one thing google doesn't search for well. Too many other uses for bed or box to get good results. My best lead so far is a place about 6 hours away that has them for $900-$1000. Thanks for the suggestions.
