Hey folks,

Just got my EZ box and I have a few questions:

1) What are the benefits/deficits of not installing the supplied brass boost elbow?

2) If I don't put the pedal to the metal for extended durations, will I NEED a boost guage and/or EGT guage?

3) Will this box alone trash my unmodified auto transmission if driven moderately?

Thanks!

Homicide--I'm not close to being an expert, experts please help out, but this is what I've learned---you're gonna love this box--your truck has got some balls now---
1) benefit=maybe your transmission will last a little longer, but I doubt it--I'll defer to the real experts here
deficits--you won't be able to use all the boost(power) the box makes--thus you're not getting the full benefit of the box--I think it really helps in the low end, you can try it without it and then put it in and try it and see--you'll leave it in
(the elbow is as easy to install as the box itself)

2) boost guage--many people say it just a macho thing--don't need it--your choice
EGT guage--most if not all will tell you to get this--no matter what your driving habits are

3) sooner or later-most likely sooner(depends how you drive like everything else)--call DTT to bomb that transmission--they're in the TDR links in the engine perf. section under Diesel Transmission Technology-I did and what an improvement--chris

Homocide, change your name to Suicide if you don't have an EGT gauge!
Don't worry about your transmission at the stage you're at, but definetly(sp?) get the gauges! As far as the brass boost elbow is concerned, it will increase your boost from 19. 9 to 24lbs max without an injector change. If you measured 0-60 times with or without the elbow with the just the 'EZ' and no injector upgrades, your times will be the same.
