Belt Shred "Victims" - Interesting Info

claims there is a TSB for the belt shredding problems on some of our trucks. Anyone elso know anything about this?

I have not seen one yet for 04,05,or 06 yet.

Yes, I posted a while back about the overunning clutch on the generator. If you look at the new trucks they have them. They are supposed to be issuing a TSB to release a clutch package for the earlier trucks. If you had the shredding problem, have your dealer call STAR and they should have more info.

I found the PN of the pulley, 05183490AA. If your dealer tries to order a belt or tensioner there is a parts note that says to install the OAP. Keep in mind that the pulley will still not fix an accessory drive that is not properly aligned.

Thanks Sag I remember you posting about the overrun pulley.



Some guy over there just had a belt shred on his 05, and he said the dealer "shimmed" a pulley. That's when the other guy (who doesn't even work as a Dodge tech) insisted there was a TSB.



I was just wondering. Knock wood, my replacement belt has been good for over 14,000 miles now. However, IF it happens again, now I know what to show the dealer. In my case, I do feel that it may have been installed wrong at the factory, but I stil check it weekly, just in case.



I'll stop talking about it now... don't want to jinx myself.
