Ive noticed some rust around the belt tensioner, so I picked one up from napa to replace it with. I just noticed that the new one was made in korea. Im a little concerned with that. Has anyone had any experience with belt tensioners made in koria ?

Hey Tractorat,

As a rule of thumb, Korean made products are just fine. Many US vendors outsource to Korea. My best friend spends several months per year in Korea as the manufacturing rep for on of the worlds premiere Ski and Snowboard manufacturers. Quality controls and national pride are very high in Korea yielding top-notch production. In fact, Seoul, Korea is becoming know as the technology capital of the world led by Samsung and LG. We'd all be surprised at how many products are developed and manufactured in Korea.

Now China, much to my wife's chagrin, is another story.

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I was thinking. I know that Hundai makes a very very good car. So, I was pretty sure that other parts made there are of quality as well. But, it doesnt hurt to check.

As much as we hate to admit it. Now USA is part of the world!! Stuff made outside the USA some good and some bad just as stuff in USA. Now China maybe a problem but may and probably will get better.

Lets not start a war about the right or wrong of this; it is just the way it is for better or worse.
