A friend of mine from over seas finally managed to get a wrecked Cummins to fix up, a rare thing over there! Hit pretty hard on the front end.
Do we have any front end experts out here?
Here is his most recent problems:
My next problem is:
It steers, and drags to the right,The cause is the caster of the right wheel is negative. It's from the impact the axle tube of the right side is turned clock wise in the differential housing. What do you think to do?
To exchange the whole front axle is not acceptable for me. Is it possible to turn the axle tube back in its original place in differential housing?
If so,how to do it the right way? Is it possible to brake the differential housing during this action. May be I can simply cut and weld the axle tube to get it in the right position?
Can you tell me how can I move the lower suspension arm,to align the fr. wheel caster?
My problem is:there is a place to adjust the excenter, but the arm is not to move, and I can't turn the bolt with the excenter, may be my axle is twisted, but even so it had to move!
It's my current problem.
I've exchanged my broken pitman shaft with a good one from Grand Cherokee, the same sizes, exept the theeth sector is some 2 mm shorter, but I could adjust it and it works! And now I have to align the wheels, because it goes to the right, and I have to turn the wheel in the opposite direction. I can drive the lil monster.
