Finally settled on a 5er!

A Towing Adventure (long)

Get anywhere.

I have no problem with my thirty footer. The limit in most of the USCG is thirty foot. However have seen some mighty big rigs up in the hills. That is one reason I like my old Hitchiker,it has already been hailed on and scratched. So no worry in that detail. When I do upgrade,I might keep my old Hiker for the boonies. You can get a campground guide for most all of the national forests and it lists the length limits for each campground.

Another good book to have is a gazetter. It has almost every trail, dirt road, camp site, and BLM property in it. Great investment. I thought I knew Colo. I grew up here. The gazetter opened a new world up!Wal-mart carries them in the map dept for about every state.

I have an '89 Travel Villa that is no longer made. I bought it used and it has been a good one. I am looking out of one eye at newer used tralers, and came across a Cameo by Carriage. It seems to be similar in construction to the trailer I have now, aluminum frame-totally enclosed-etc. Anybody know anything about these trailers?

King of the Road

We purchased a 30ft Rear Kitchen. . 2 slides this spring. We are impressed with the workmanship, insulation and the King of the Road company. It has double pane windows,15,000btu A/C,upgraded insulation, standard with 2 furnaces, electric jacks, and electric rear stabilizers. I was impressed with the way they have the water controls all in one spot. The electrical all neatly done on the DC and AC busses. Few minor problems, but send an email to customer service and usually have an answer within a couple of hours.

We were in it for 12 days in LAS at MM while truck was broke. Plenty cool. Weighs 11,300 scale weight.

I have had a 40' Alfa Gold for almost two years now and live in it on a daily basis and will do so for another 9 months. I can honestly say that nothing goes wrong these trailers. The only thing I can say is if you are going to spend a LOT of time in one, go with an Alfa, King of the Road, Excel, Hitchhiker or another of similar quality. You won't be sorry.
