Thanks everyone for your replies and information. I have decided to get some gages for now... ... . and then go shopping at the Calgary Diesel Dyno Stampede for furthur BOMBs! :D Should be able to learn a lot there and see it all in action, get some wisdom and maybe some deals!!

Thanks for the info on the Dyno Stampede Jason!!

You're more than welcome Alex-like I told you in conversation any more ?'s about gauges etc. feel free to give me a call. Looking forward to meeting you at Stampede time!

No matter what he does he will void most of the warranty. he does not have to pierce the pump wire if he wants to keep the VP44 warranty

I don't think a sharp DC mech (if one exists) can see the results of BOMBing in the ECM, but I know a sharp Cummins Mech can...

That is exactly what I meant when I said "getting away with". The Dodge dealers do not have the means to look into the fueling curves in the ECM. The damaged pump wire left by the Comp or any other fueling box is what the DC guys are going to look for. I don't know about you, but I can (and do) remove/install the brass elbows with out disturbing the factory crimp clamp on the wastegate hose,so no problem there fooling the naked eye.

That's why the EZ would be the best bet, and since it plugs into the datalink, you don't disturb the VOID stickers either.

I just think it is absolutely stupid to by a Comp box when you're not going to attatch the pump wire for the first 100k miles. 100k miles is a looonnggg time, just get an EZ for the mean time, and get what ever the latest and greatest fueling box is in a few years down the road when you hit 100k.

The Comp is more aggressive than the EZ and is adjustable from the cab even when the wire isn't pierced.

then when the itch happens he can hook it up right.

You're right on Mike about swapping elbows without disturbing the factory clamp-I yanked mine off without destroying it. Used a worm clamp to attach the Edge elbow but the factory one's still in the glove compartment-at one time EZ was as far as I was going. Not anymore! :D

I don't want to put words in Alex's mouth-but I think he realizes full well that once he starts turning up the wick his driveline warranty is pretty much toast..... I think he is more concerned about a vindictive dealer voiding the bumper-to-bumper warranty. We've all seen that-and even though it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a fueling box has nothing to do with a heated seat failure you still hear stories... . .

If I was going to do things over again-I would have sprung for the COMP just for the in-cab adjustability. Different people have different needs-and again Mike makes a good point that down the road there'll be a new box that'll make all of us wish we had held off on buying. If in-cab adjustability wasn't high on my list, I'd spring for a Pulse now instead of an EZ for the little extra money..... more tuneable and the ability to pierce the pump wire for more power at a future time.

It takes alot of money to replace an engine and you can almost be certain DC will fit the bill to have the ECM checked.

If warranty is no concern then go for the gusto!!

If warranty is a concern, it's best to leave it alone even if you think you can live with the agony when they do void your warranty. Been there done that. It's a real sick feeling when they deny you warranty on parts that you know are defective and it's their responsabilty but they will do not thing cause you did something to void your warranty.

Before you do anything make sure in your gut that is what you really want to do and then don't look back.

Won't our ECM "reset" if you leave the batteries disconnected for several hours? Would this erase the ECM memory or fueling curves?
